great spot, slight commute for better value than streeterville
building is at the far southwest of downtown, meaning there's wide open skies out to the south and west. most buildings in south loop are newer than streeterville and you pay less for the same luxury apartment kind of amenities (pool, gym, basketball court amenities). I lived in a studio last year here 1600/month, 215 parking. I upgraded to a 1 bed+den for 2400/month. If you're ok with a really short bus/train ride (or super quick 15 minute bike to streerville), it's worth it. The management company can be annoying to deal with but the maintenance crew and door staff are top notch.
Lots of space, responsive management
Best parts of AMLI are bang for buck and the responsiveness of the management. Definitely was the most amt of square footage per dollar of the all the complexes in O4W. Also, the management has been extremely responsive to maintenance requests, usually getting here in 24 hours or less.
Of the new complexes that popped up in O4W, AMLI O4W was one of the first, so compared to the other complexes, some might find the finishing and appliances a little outdated, but everything works well and it's overall great quality.
AMLI Parkside Review
Great place to live!
Good community, so-so management
I love the location of this apartment because its so close to several parks and a there are a ton of walking trails right outside your door. I've met some amazing people in the community and people are generally nice. The apartments have what you need, but are built a little cheap. additionally, sound carries like crazy and unless you luck out, you'll almost definitely hear loud music or TVs a lot of the time from some direction or another. Maintenance is good about getting stuff done quickly, if not correctly the first time. Management will sometimes straight up ignore you. Also there is an ongoing issue with the fire alarm system so pipes burst whenever there is a thaw (its CO, so often) and sometimes for no reason at all, even in the middle of the night. It's happened 6 times in the last 7 months. Parking is pretty easy, but the gates often break and you'll have to drive way out of your way to go out the other gate and literally no one I have talked to gets good cell reception here.
Wouldn't recommend
The units themselves are modern and comfortable. However, there is a fair amount of noise that travels from the surrounding apartments. The fire alarms also tend to go off relatively frequently. I won't be renewing my lease. The management tends to make up excuses for why they can't do anything when you bring issues to them.
Look for specials
A lot of the South Loop properties are generally great (Amli 900 is no exception). The staff is very friendly and the gym always has open machines. Plus, free coffee! It’s a bit more of a walk to transportation than other South loop apartments at 10ish minutes to the 2, 7ish to the red line, and 16ish to the metra electric, but still manageable. Look out for the best special/price at all apartments in the area so you can score a deal.
Riverside is not not dope
There aren't a lot of walkable restaurants and bars (though 1618 Asian Fusion is downright tremendous). BUT it is super easy to get to East Austin and Rainey and being right on the Roy and Ann Butler Trail is a huge plus. Very pet friendly as well.
Amli Ponce Park Review
I love living in the Old Fourth Ward! I feel like it gives me a good reprieve from school. It is only a 15 minute drive from campus and I use that time to catch up with friends/call my parents/listen to a podcast. It is SO nice being on the beltline for easy food access, grocery stores within 5 minutes (kroger, whole foods, trader joes). The actual apartment is very nice and spacious. The facilities are great too (gym, pool, grills). Living in this area really helps me balance school with fun activities. Because I am so close to restaurants and parks I have explored Atlanta more than some of my classmates. Also- many people move to this area in their 3rd and 4th year of medical school but wish they lived here sooner. I do not want to move for the next four years and I am excited to stay put and enjoy!
Good Quality but Price Keeps Going Up and Up
Started out at reasonable price for location, space quality, and amenities. Prices keep raising, as high as 18% from one lease to another, and other charges are getting added that weren't there before. Because of this, will look for someplace else next lease, but disappointed it came to this.
AMLI Apartment
Pro:
Free gym
Safe to live alone
easy to have dining restaurant
Not bad to drive to school without any traffic - est time 30 mins
Con:
Too expensive
AMLI Parkside is great
I love Old 4th Ward. It is quiet but more walkable than midtown. A ton to do. Also, my apartment has great management. Maintenance fixes everything within a day or two.
Centric Location Near MARTA
The apartment is nothing special but is not in bad condition. The biggest issue is black particles in the tap water at times. The location is great to hop on MARTA. Not very convenient for Emory Students.
Good
The apartments are nice and spacious. I liked that they were more modern in design. But when I lived there, the staff and management company were changing so there was a lot of miscommunication. They tried to do what they could to help us. Now that it’s been a couple years, hopefully it’s better managed. It wasn’t a horrible experience - so definitely check them out!
1Y New to Austin
Amazing apartment and location. Parking available and a pool. You really cannot beat the location.
That said, the building has been constantly under construction for the entire time I've lived here which is somewhat obnoxious especially in our virtual environment.
Amli 5350 Review
Living at Amli 5350 is a great experience. It is on a main bus line from campus and across from Monkey Nest coffee shop which is a great place to study. Very close to HEB and a few restaurants. More north than most students but good value.
