Rittenhouse Claridge will nickel and dime you!
It's a great location and good amenities, but before you move in you should know that you need to read your lease agreement very very carefully. Just about every month I get a notice that I have been charged for this or that, from $20-$100!!
Rules are constantly being added with fees attached ($25 per day for packages left more than 7 days). It's a building that touts luxury and services, but they treat you like a meter maid would.
Lots of space, great if you have 2 people
You get what you pay for
The rent isn't cheap, but the park-side units offer gorgeous views during the day. A 700 sq. ft. one bedroom is big enough to have 20-25 people over if needed; the living room is spacious and the dining alcove allows you to have a dining area, though it's not separate. The cons: small bathroom and an annoying galley style kitchen that makes it hard to open up the kitchen when you want to walk around. Common spaces are great--huge new gym and common room on the 2nd floor, plus a roof that has sweeping views of the city (though it doesn't have much more than that). Be warned, the building does frown upon using the common space for large social gatherings, but it's a fantastic study nook and place to have a few friends over to hang out.
Pros: Extremely spacious units. Ours in particular gets excellent light and has a great view of the park. Recently renovated gym and lounge area. Lounge has a pool table, communal computers, free printers and TVs. Building also has washing machines on each floor. Responsive management
Cons: building is fairly old from what I can tell. Somewhat odd smell in the hallways on certain days. But overall, good value.
"Renovated studio with great building amenities"
This renovated studio comes at a great price and meets all of my basic needs. The building has a new amenities center and the gym equipment is brand new. Utilities are included which helps minimize extra costs. Building location is right on Rittenhouse Sq and has very convenient access to bars, restaurants, groceries, shopping, and public transportation (bus and subway).
The Rittenhouse Claridge
Been living there for 5 years and love it.
Great place to live right on Rittenhouse Square. Tons of Wharton students live here and the building has recently been renovated so the units and the commons spaces all look great.
Great lounge, very safe, lovely gym and big sized apartments!
Excellent Value For Location & Amenities
Great Amenities (Second Floor Lounge, Gym)
Very Responsive Management / Friendly Staff
Old kitchen appliances in my unit (studio)
Not enough kitchen storage (zero room for utensils)
Good amenities for the price
Good apartment. Previously got knocked for bad amenities, which they have improved DRASTICALLY with the 2nd floor lounge. Lobby still very outdated, but they've got a reno there int he works
Great place to live
I have really enjoyed living here. The apartments are spacious and well-insulated. I have found that the management company are very responsive and able to meet my needs. The new gym is great, and the door people are awesome.
Fantastic place to live
Love the Claridge. Great building to live in during your two years at Wharton. There are tons of other students living here, the apartments were recently renovated, and you couldn't ask for a better location!
It's not bad!
I've definitely been in better apartments around "the Wharton bubble" but this one was just fine. My kitchen was so small and crappy that I can barely cook in it. It's fine for a short term!
Rittenhouse Claridge is Great
Will be hard to leave!
