Renters BEWARE - POORLY MANAGED - Say No to Post Brothers

1 management rating Reviewed by on

When I moved in, I was told my apartment was clean, but that was a lie. There were used condoms in different places in the apartment, clothes left behind in the dryer, dirt/dust everywhere, issues with the shower, and the toilet didn’t work/flush properly. Management was contacted but did NOTHING and it took over a week to get someone in to fix the toilet and shower.

Within the first 1-2 weeks of my moving in, there were two mass shootings, both not even one mile away. Management had 0 concern for anyone's safety. If you parked on the street, your car would get broken into. If you paid the extra $175/month for garage parking, you deal with residents not closing the door behind them, therefore anyone can get into the garage, break into a car, and leave (and it happened a few times). This was an ongoing issue, which management was frequently made aware of, and aside from changing the lock mechanism on the door (which didn’t do anything), did nothing.

The walls are paper thin. I had a neighbor that I reported weekly due to domestic violence issues with him and whomever else was in his apartment. Management did NOTHING, but according to the lease agreement, this gentleman should have been kicked out of the complex. My mail/packages were often stolen.

Well-behaved pets were allowed, per the agreement, and not allowed in shared spaces. A friend and I were in the lounge when a male resident entered with a large dog, which attacked us. We took pictures of the damage – bruising, dislocated wrist, open wounds, and management did NOTHING. A guy named Brian tried to sexually assault a girl in the elevator and management did NOTHING.

When I left, I did a deep clean of the space and left nothing behind. Michele S., management promised me in writing that my security deposit would be returned ($2k), in addition to other fees that were owed to me. Michele and I scheduled a day/time for me to pick up a check, but when I arrived, she was on “vacation” and didn’t leave the check for me. When I reached out again, she claimed she would mail it, but that never happened. 1.5 years or so later and I have yet to see any money returned to me.

The property is located in northern liberties which a safe area that is a short drive from campus. There’re cheaper apartments in northern liberties as well as fishtown (an adjacent neighborhood)

Rent is a little high for my tastes and maintenance isn’t always very responsive, though that’s been improving recently. Amenities are good. Subletting is no longer allowed though.

Very nice property with lots of amenities. Less than two blocks walk to SEPTA for ~25 minute public transit commute to law school with less than 3 blocks of walking total.

Great apartment complex!

I had a great experience with finding this apartment while out of state. The property managers are extremely helpful with getting you information about the apartment unit you may be interested in. Apartments are very new and well kept. This apartment has a gym and outdoor seating area with grills and fire pits. As a graduate student, I find rent to be reasonable. I take the trolley 34 to campus which takes 15 minutes.

Dollars well spent

Folks have balked at the cost to live here, but I cannot stress enough how much value the rent delivers considering the comprehensive amenities and the apartments' luxurious appointments.
The breathtaking views from the rooftop pool and hot tub are themselves worth a visit. State of the art gym, valet parking, business center, his and hers spa, 24-7 security, music room, dog run, playground, daycare, bike room... you name it. The staff is kind and friendly, knows who you are, and always lends a hand.
The apartments themselves are fantastic. The studio I live in is surprisingly spacious. The apartments are beautiful, well-maintained, and fitted with modern (ebony & bronze) or classic (white & gold) finishes. High ceilings, walk in closets, hardwood floors, up-to-date appliances, and massive windows with lots of light.
The centrality of the location is a massive draw. Kimmel Center across the street, Gayborhood a 5 min walk away, short walks to Rittenhouse and Fashion District, surrounded by excellent restaurants. Whether you take your car or bicycle or public transit, the city is open to you.
I've only given low marks on "Social" because you don't move to the Atlantic to know your neighbors or throw parties. It has a very restrictive guest policy, and I very much prefer that. I wanted somewhere private where I could enjoy my own company, so I count it as a blessing that there aren't rowdy groups in the lounge or the pool area when I want to relax. Which, by the way, happens very frequently at the other large complexes in the Rittenhouse area due to the lax security and the number of students living there.
For the quality of life here, I wouldn't live anywhere else in Philadelphia.

Top-notch property

Beautiful spa-like amenities and an Equinox-level gym. Location does usually require Ubers to campus, but there are public transport options.

I think that this property and the newly-opened complex will complete for #1.

PC is pretty and luxurious even. It is expensive but less expensive than those apartments with the same level in University City such as Left Bank, 3737 or Aka. However, if you want to engage more of campus life, I recommend you live closer to University city.

Arrived summer of 2020 and the staff have been friendly and available when needed. They can sometimes be slow to respond to emails. Building is brand new and amenities are great. A/C and heating unit is new and quiet. Plenty of storage. In-unit laundry. Gym, Peloton, grills, garden, lounge, work space with wi-fi and printer, dry cleaning service, package service, dog park, online maintenance requests... My neighbors are quiet but it can vary- some of the tenants have small children and it can get loud. The parking is locked and convenient, and there is 24/7 concierge at the security desk. They also provide free Segway scooters and referral bonuses. Will be staying through graduation.

Clean and safe!! I’ve lived in Spring Garden area and this is so much better than living along broad street. Everyone who lives here is 20-40 grad students or professionals. You have everything you need and the large windows are perfect for studying. Parking is $65/m which is much cheaper than the city.

I've had a great experience at the Irvine. The apartments are quite small, but they are modern with new appliances, washer & dryer included. The front desk staff is always friendly. The gym in the basement of the apartment is amazing. The backyard area is lovely in the summer. There is a small park in the apartment for pets, lots of tenants have dogs. Everything is well maintained, clean, and quiet. Street parking is always available and feels safe as well, but you can pay extra for parking behind the apartment. Plus - it is only a 10 minute trolley ride to campus.

Pros: Beautiful building with really nice finishes and great amenities. True NYC-style doorman building.

Cons: A bit of a hike to campus. Broad St (14th) is loud so you want to be up high or on the other side of the building.

The building is phenomenal. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The amenities are incredible in every way. The building is brand new as of a couple years ago, so pretty much everything is new. Gym is basically an Equinox. Co-working space is really nice. Rooftop is amazing. Apartment finishes are above any other rental building I have seen.
