Go HamCo! Live HamCo!

My friends and I were referred to Hamco from a few current residents and it has been a great living experience. We have a three-bedroom apartment and it is plenty spacious and we each have our own good sized bedrooms for our own private space.

The building has a ton of amenities - pool, hot tub, grilling area, study lounge, nice courtyard & deck. They host events almost every week with plenty of free food which is great for us college students.

The staff is always accessible and really friendly. We've had minor maintenance issues with lights being out however they were fixed immediately.

Best of all Upenn is quite literally a 1 minute walk away which gives us the convenience of being right where need to be in minutes.

There has only been positive experience at Hamco so far!

Ideal Off-Campus Apartment

I spent my junior and now senior year at hamco and its just been great off-campus living for me and my roommates. Its like a two minute walk to campus which is the main reason I chose to live here. A new washer/dryer room and gym with pool was just added which is an upgrade to what was previously there and have met a bunch of friends while being here. Hamco is solid college living.

Hamco is Home

I lived in Hamco for my sophmore year and the location really can't be beat. Everything is just a few steps away -- 5 mins from campus, some of the best restaurants (Dim Sum House, City Tap, Sweetgreen, Starbucks).

I reupped my lease for my junior year. They are building a brand new amenity center with pool, fitness center and lounge which will is exciting for next year!

Best Living In University City

I only have good things to say about my stay at Hamco. I got back from my study abroad program last year and needed to find an off-campus apartment as soon as possible. My two other friends were in the same situation so we worked with Hamco management and they helped us get the great apartment we really wanted. We just renewed our lease and looking forward to the new fitness center and rooftop pool.

One of best thing about things about Hamco is the great location. It's a 5 minute walk from campus and has great food and nightlife options in the area.

Buildings are in generally crappy condition and predominately undergraduates. Very close to campus for a decent price though.

Gentrifying area of West Philly, given Penn's presence and expansion into the neighborhood. Easily walkable. Within several blocks of Clark Park, where there are lots of community events and family-friendly activities in addition to walking paths and dog park. Lots of cute shops and restaurants along Baltimore Ave plus great hole-in-the-wall spots if you want to explore a bit more.
The best thing about the neighborhood is that it is extremely close to the law school. There are some stores and restaurants, but it isn't vibrant. There are basically no liquor stores in university city. Proximity to school was most important to me, so I think it is a great place to live.
Perfect for the 1L experience-- I love being close to law school and surrounded by other students. Living so close to all of Penn's resources, with great food/drink options around, is awesome. Plus it is very easy to get into Center City on SEPTA.
University City is a great college town. It provides everything you could want plus higher-end more modern options when it comes to restaurants and bars. Very walkable and safe
Not much to do, have to go to center city for most stuff but that’s fine for me as a med student cause most stuff is at the school.
Very close to the law school which is great but other areas of the city have better restaurants/coffee shops
Close to work and Penn's campus but not as close to center city/restaurants.
I'm glad I live in University City because I have such a short walk to school and can go home for lunch each day. I don't have time to do many fun activities in Center City anyway, so I don't regret not living there. Having said that, Center City definitely has more of an "adult" feel. Where I live in University City doesn't really feel like a neighborhood or community.
