Good but not the best

+Great location
+24-hour security
+Quick response for maintenance requests
+Easy to rent for international students

- Different sizes of rooms for the same amount of rent (some of them are very small and have kitchenettes in the middle of the room)
- Initial room conditions were not good (not very clean, needed paint etc.) but repaired upon request
- The heat goes only up to 74F during the winter
- Low WiFi speed

Overpriced Old Building

Its location is amazing, but the building facility and overall experience does not justify its price.

Studio Living

Tiny Studio with great neighbors and just a 10-15 minute walk to school. There's also a free bus operated by NYU, further reducing the commute.

Comfortable, but reminded me of undergrad.

While Palladium is extremely comfortable and convenient, it would not be my first choice (it wasn't to begin with). It is a residence that includes undergraduate students and you are treated like one of them. For example, you have to sign in guests and there is a policy around how many guests you can host in a given month. The room is pretty small and there is no real space to cook.
Having said that, this was my first time living in the city and it was convenient to have facilities as well as resources for problem-resolution. I also greatly appreciated not having to share my bathroom with anyone.

Popular NYU option

Not bad for students. It's on the older side, but reasonably priced and convenient.

Great location

Palladium is boasts a great location. It is next to Trader Joe's, multiple subway lines, and there is a gym right in the building. It is also only a 15min walk to Stern School of Business.

Palladium apartments (NYU Grad housing)

The Palladium is spartan, but fine. Even though it's advertised as Grad student housing, make no mistake: it's still a dorm. Grad students have their own studio apartments, with their own bathroom and kitchenette. It is extremely convenient location-wise (less than a block from the Union sq metro, easy walk to school), and has a pool, gym, and eating facility in the building. The building is not good for hosting friends, as all guests must sign-in and leave an ID at the front desk. This can be inconvenient.

Good short-term experience

Useful for NYU students looking to move to NYC for the first time, highly expensive and small living space.

NYU Dorm

Palladium residence is pretty good for those who have just moved to the city. Utilities are included and there is a large student body in the dorm that helps you meet other students. Decent choice for your first year.

Greenwich Village Reviews

Close to campus, very safe area, but also very busy! Union Square can be hectic at times, with lots of people ALWAYS around. Make sure your apartment has thick windows, or doesn't face the street...

Near to multiple major grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, other various), as well as a thousand restaurants, bars and fast food places. Multiple gym chains in the area, from NYSC and Planet Fitness to Equinox. Close to all amenities, including dry cleaning and shoe repair, shopping.
Awesome bars and restaurants, convenient access to transport, neighborhood feel, family-friendly, good proximity to NYU
If you're choosing between Columbia and NYU purely based on neighborhood, pick NYU. Plenty of good food (if pricey), good nightlife, area feels safe day and night. Good mix of students and non-students. Washington Square Park serves as a sort of unofficial campus and heart of the neighborhood. Only downside is lots of homeless. They tend not to be aggressive however.
NYU Central. Very close to Washington Square Park. Walkable to West Village, East Village, SoHo, Nolita and more. It's fun, lively, and still has a dry cleaner across the street. Some of the nearby bars are loud and boisterous.
It's kind of noisy with the bar scene but if you get an apartment that faces away from the street it is really quiet. Also you are so close to the school, you have so many options for food, and Trader Joe's is a ten minute walk away.
It's a fun neighborhood with lots to do. Everything is a few steps away. The metro is also super close by. I really like the neighborhood. The only thing is it will get loud at night.
It's not a close-knit neighbourhood but it's very modern and safe.
Tons of restaurants and bars right outside the door.
