Leaking ceiling for almost a year, damaged car!
I've never had a worse apartment experience.
1.) The most serious issue has been the leaking ceiling, which started in August 2024 (when I moved in!) and is still unresolved (May 2025). Despite multiple maintenance requests, no effective repairs were made. In fact, the issue was either ignored or met with temporary, failed fixes (including putting a fridge drawer under the leak to catch the water, she's pictured in the video....). After speaking with the magistrate, we were advised that the unit should be considered "uninhabitable" according to Pennsylvania Tenant Law, especially in regards to the water damage and risk of mold. My partner and I ultimately broke our lease early—this situation was unacceptable, and with our demanding jobs, we didn’t have the capacity to manage the escrow process. They continue to act like they did US a favor by not charging as "early termination" fees, as said by their current Property Manager.
2.) Promised rent concessions were never honored for over six months, resulting in significant overcharges—thousands of dollars. When I raised this issue, it was initially dismissed. I was only reimbursed three months later after calling persistently, without apology. I fully expect similar issues with the return of my security deposit. Ironically enough, the week before I leave, I have been charged "late fees" for paying my rent early as their system hasn't been posting their fees in a timely manner.
3.) My car sustained $1,335 in damage due to a leaking, rusty pipe in the garage. The garage is poorly maintained and not secure. Albion covered only $111.48 of the cost (less than 10%), and that was after extensive back-and-forth.
Overall, the property is not well maintained—hallways constantly smell, mice are common in the winter, and general upkeep and customer service are lacking. Yet management continues to charge “luxury” rates without providing appropriate service or support. I would strongly advise against renting here, especially when there are far better-managed options in Bloomfield and Shadyside. More than happy to provide additional photos of this. Will also be posting this on the Bloomfield Buzz and other forums. -Apt 142

Albion and morrow park
The building has nice amenities with a pool hot tub gym and sauna but the building is poorly managed and cared for. We had a fire in an apartment this year that resulted in sprinkler damage to many apartments and a water pipe burst that again damaged many apartments. This will take a while to repair and the management has not handled it well.

Excellent but expensive
Overall, Albion is great place to live. The apartments have an open floor plan. The first floor units have high, bare concrete ceilings and direct street/courtyard access. The management is responsive and common facilities (including pool, gym, club room, outdoor cooking/party areas) are all well maintained. The downside is that between parking spot fees ($100/month) and higher than average rent, you definitely are shelling out for the "luxury."
There are many residents and trainees that live in this building. The walls are thick so I've never had a noise issue. Cats and small-to-medium dogs are allowed (with a small rent hike).
Easy to catch the 71A/C to Presby or just cross the street to Shadyside

apt review
Convenient central location (at the border between Bloomfield/Shadyside) especially if you're a 3rd/4th year with rotations at various UPMC hospitals. Management is responsive but maintenance work sometimes takes a long time. Very safe, has a small gym and pool. Walkable to a grocery store, several fast food options right across the street, close to bus stops. Covered parking garage for extra monthly fee. Downside - expensive, rent does not cover any utilities, internet, or parking.

Overpriced but good location
The apartment is overpriced for the quality of amenities they provide and for the size of the unit. Parking is $95/month for UPMC employees (aka PittMed students) and added onto rent. The apt is a block away from Shadyside hospital and less than a block from 2-3 different bus lines to take you into Oakland. Management was okay and responded to repair requests in a timely manner. However, there definitely seemed like there was a lack of communication between the building manager and the one other employee there so I recommend talking exclusively to the building manager if you have a problem, especially when money is involved. I lived on the top floor facing the Cathedral of learning so I did have a nice view with floor to ceiling windows. The unit was just very small considering the price. It did have in unit W/D which was a plus, an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, and a VERY SMALL gym. It is extremely close to Bloomfield, walking distance to Shadyside, and Lawrenceville, and Children's Hospital. You really can't beat this location. Key fob entry into the building and key fob entry to use the pool or gym.

Great Place to Live
I really love living in Morrow Park. It is a bit expensive, but the amenities (gym, pool, courtyard with grills, conference room, entertainment room, sauna) are excellent. The staff is very responsible and pleasant as well.
