Quieter Than Virginia Square/Clarendon
Newport Village is nice because each apartment building (though there are a ton of them here) only has about 14-16 units in each. There is generally more parking and the management isn't unbearable, just expect rent to go up $100-$150 each year. Our apartment has enough room between the neighbors that we do not have any noise problems at all, and the larger-than-average space for a 1br helps out a lot compared to our friends' smaller apartments closer to the school.

Great place for a 1st time renter
Recently renovated. Great new appliances. Looks great on the outside. Some but rare spiders or insects. No rodents. Spacious living room, dining, and kitchen. Maintenance is usually very responsive. Very pet friendly, but with a high deposit per pet. Great crowd of diverse occupants. Close to lots of food and shopping centers. Right outside of Arlington. About 15min outside of DC. Not close to a metro station, but there are close bus stops. Walls aren't TOO thin.
