Bad experience

Very expensive. Although people live there are very kind and warm-hearted. The apartment is too expensive, you can easily find other more new and comfortable apartment.

Location and building fine

The location is good if you plan on biking or taking the shuttle to school. We’re the first stop on the South Campus shuttle with the stop being across the street from the building. There is a bike path that goes directly from the building to the law school. Unfortunately there is only one public bus route by us and it doesn’t come frequently. It will take you up to the metro stop but you then normally have to wait about 12 minutes for the next train. The building is old and has some quirks. Overall it’s fine and not bad enough to make me move. There have been a fair amount of car break ins but management has hired a security company to patrol the parking lot to try to combat that and so far it has worked.

Great apartment

My boyfriend and I really love our apartment; it's bright and open, with lots of storage and an updated kitchen. We enjoy grilling on our balcony, and the windows are wonderful. We've had several issues with the plumbing, and the management company just added a parking permit process in the middle of our lease--forcing us to either pay $50/month per car or park on an already crowded street. In general, we love the apartment and the proximity to school and restaurants, but I don't know that the rent & additional costs are necessarily worth. The staff is always really pleasant, and I really enjoy greeting them every day.

Getting around Wydown-Skinker

Wydown-Skinker Reviews

1 reviews
Demun Ave. has some cute restaurants. We’re also not far from Delmar loop which has a lot more restaurants, bars, and shops. It’s nice being right by Forrest Park. You’ll probably want a car to go grocery shopping at Schnucks though. It’s a relatively quiet neighborhood with some car break ins which you’ll get anywhere in a city.
