Quiet area with good bus access

We have really enjoyed our 1 BR "Chalet" (lofted apartment) at Pine Valley. The complex is in a nice, tree-covered residential neighborhood off Packard St. The 5A and 5B bus lines run along Packard. It's a bit too far from campus to walk, but the bus runs frequently on weekdays.

Our unit is a bit dated (ugly bathroom, older kitchen appliances) but entirely functional and, rare for an attached rental unit, it has large windows on two opposite sides, so it gets wonderful light. It is carpeted. Probably the biggest downside is that the chalets don't have in-unit laundry -- it's in the basement of another building about 50 feet away, and there's only one washer and dryer for several units. However, some of the other layouts do have in-unit laundry (they just aren't as cool and airy as the chalets). Each unit also has a storage locker in the laundry room that's probably about 3 by 5 feet, as well as a covered parking spot.

We have had good experiences with the leasing office and maintenance so far. The property is very pet-friendly.

The people living here are a mix of students, families, and older adults. It's quiet, but not silent.

Great place to live!

This is a very modern, spacious double floor apartment. Everything in the apartment is new and updated. It's a chalet so there are two floors with a balcony looking over the first floor. It's a little far from school, but I take the bus every day and have no problems. It takes me about 10 total minutes to get from my apartment to inside the school (including the walk from the bus stop). There is only one washer and dryer per 5 units so you can use it for a load, but we usually go to the laundromat if we want to do multiple loads. There is a pool for the summers which is nice, and the community is very nice and cozy. Dishwasher, refrigerator, garbage disposal, big extra storage locker, covered parking, balconies. Not furnished.

Young Professionals, young families, and grad students seem to make up most of the residents. There are some events, but its not a highly social apartment complex. Lots of dog owners, so if you have a dog you'll certainly run into tons of folks walking dogs.
The neighborhood is quiet and is a mix of apartment/townhouse complexes and single family homes. I've never felt unsafe and public transit is good.
It’s a great place if you want to live close to the school, but want to be away from the madness of campus.
Kid and pet friendly. Nice neighbors, not noisy at all.
The neighborhood is great! Lots of families and very friendly people. It is a very safe neighborhood as well in my experience.
Incredibly safe and friendly.
Besides the traffic noise, the neighborhood is mostly quiet. It is far enough away from campus that the majority of residents are families rather than students.
Mostly apartments, condos, and families. Public transportation accessible, but easier with a car. Some great eateries along Packard.
