The Perfect Off-Campus Spot

The apartment is in great condition and reasonably well updated with in-unit washer and dryer, and dishwasher. There is a nice balcony in each apartment and if you have a third floor apartment, there are vaulted ceilings in the main living area. The stairs are wide and the turns up the stairs are easy to maneuver even with a full sized couch. It is right next to the line 5 bus stop and only approximately 10 min by bus from the main UM campus. It is also in a quieter part of town so it is easy to get in and out on gamedays while also being reasonably close to the stadium if you are ok with a mid-range walk. Also importantly it is very reasonably priced for the quality of apartment and includes parking for two cars, one of which is covered.

Great value for more space

Quiet complex with a mix of townies and students. Pet-friendly and has great pool and hot tub which are open during the summer. Maintenance is quick to respond to requests, which is really appreciated! One carport spot provided for each unit which helps our car stay dry during the winter, which is a great perk! Walls are thick, we don’t hear our neighbors at all. The AATA (City) bus picks up passengers at two different spots in front of the apartment complex and runs regularly Monday-Friday.

A bit far, but otherwise great!

Pros - Large Apartment. Covered Parking included (1 space per unit), plenty of uncovered parking for multiple cars or guests. Lower Rent per bedroom than most people pay near campus. Washer/Dryer in unit. Dog friendly. Balconies/Patios. Equal Sized rooms. Updated units available (mine is not updated). Pool and hot tub. Small gym (Two treadmills, an elliptical, and a few weights). Staff is nice and has been very quick to fix problems (within 24 hours). Dog waste stations.

Cons - Its a bit far from campus. Walking to campus is not an option. There is a bus, but I would still highly recommend having a car. I rent a parking space 1.5 blocks from Ross for $75/mo. I found the parking spot of craigslist.

I was deciding between this and a 1-bedroom close to Ross. I ended up at The Ponds for the extra space for my dog and the in-unit laundry. It has been very nice so far. Its great for a dog (I have a 75 lb mutt) and many residents have dogs. Its about a 10 minute walk around the complex for a quick walk in the morning, and there are dog waste stations around the complex as well (get your own bags though, they run out sometimes). For a longer walk, there is a path to a neighborhood behind the complex as well. There seem to be a lot of young professionals, folks with small children, and grad students in the complex. Only 6 units per front door, so there isn't a lot of traffic in and out of each building. I highly recommend having at least one car, but there is a bus stop right in front of the complex that goes straight to campus and drops off about 4 minute walk from Ross, so 1 car would probably be fine, even for a couple or roommates.

Ponds at Georgetown

It's the best place/value if you're looking to have a little more space, live a little bit "off campus" (but still has easy access to campus--15-20 minutes via bus), if you have a dog/pets (no size restrictions either), or a family. It's right next to the AATA bus stop, which comes every 5-10 minutes, and door-to-door, takes less than 20 minutes to get to Ross.

Quiet area with Privacy

Spacious apartments with 2 to 3 rooms. I share a 2 bed/2bthroom with another MBA1. Rent is cheaper than many rooms near campus and rooms are spacious. There is a shuttle every 15 minutes to campus. Bus delays are something to consider in winter. The community has free parking, a small gym and a swimming pool which is open in the summer. Good place for people looking for quiet. Pets are allowed.

Amazing Apartment with Great Management Team

I have loved my apartment. Although further away from campus than many other apartments. This is only a 15 minute bus ride away and busses come every 15 minutes. The management team is amazing, and the maintenance team fixes most, if not all, issues within an hour or two of the request coming in. The community is very pet friendly and is located close enough to the highway that you can get in and out of town easily for travel/interviews.
