CRAZY NEIGHBOR IN APT 312 BEWARE
There is a lady who lives in apartment 312, and she is a constant nuisance. She has verbally threatened to k*ll me before so I feel unsafe living here. She may be schizophrenic or have some sort of mental illness as she can be heard screaming at the top of her lungs, screaming obscenities, and audibly destroying her apartment, then walks out as if nothing happened. This has been an ongoing issue for the past 2 years. I, along with other neighbors, have called the police on her numerous times. She either does not answer her door for them, or she leaves her apartment before they get here. Front desk is aware of this issue and seems to have the attitude of "yeah, she does that". I have contacted management as well, but there is little to be done. I believe she has lived in this complex for a long time, and probably has no plans to leave. Please beware as the noise and stress if you live near her is extremely disruptive.

Terrible Management, No Heat in Winter!
Terrible management, no heat or hot water in the winter constantly, nothing is ever repaired or updated.
On the positive side, all the staff in the building is wonderful and kind. The location is convenient for the numerous train lines around but very loud and busy because of proximity to Times Square.

Loud, conveniently located.
The apartment is within walking distance of both Central Park, Times Square and the Theater District meaning there are tons of tourists in the area. It can be pretty loud. However, there's a lot to do and eat in the area and you can reach most any train. The building itself has doormen and attentive maintenance workers, as well as laundry machines in the building.

A bit noisy, but awesome apartments
The building is an elevator building with 24/7 doorman. It's not a fancy highrise but it has an old-school charm. The building sits on 8th avenue across from a firehouse but you get used to the noise. The apartments and management are great. Any time something has gone wrong in the apartment (ie. our fridge broke about a year after we moved in) management was quick to put in a temp fridge while a new one was ordered. Super close to public transport. Being only a couple blocks from Times Sq the foot traffic can be busy at times but definitely manageable. Grocery store across the street, loads of restaurants and bars just a couple of steps outside the building. Doormen are very nice. Pet friendly building. All the residents are nice, no noise complaints, overall a great place to live! I've been there almost two years and I'm in love with my apartment.

Hell's Kitchen Reviews
* Easily accessible from a majority of transit hubs.
* Tremendous investment on the part of private and public entities, so there's a lot of development and renewarl.
* Proximity to Javits Center, Penn Station, and Time Square make it heavily policed and quite safe.
CONS
* NOISE--from the Lincoln Tunnel, the Javits, the River, the tourists, but above all else the construction
* Proximity to Javits Center, Penn Station, and Time Square can suck the character out of the location. Don't move here if you're looking to easily find a neighborhood with it's own personality (your local coffee place is going to be Starbucks and your local Italian place is going to be a hike if you want anything other than Sbarro/Olive Garden).
Transportation, particularly up and down the West Side and to FiDi is incredibly easy, and if you live near 42nd St, almost every area is a snap to get to.
Con: Can be loud and tourist heavy during certain hours.
