Arrive on University

Very close to campus and commute to other places is convenient. Maintenance is quick and parking is easy.

Good Value, but Missing Some Luxuries

I love my apartment, and my roommate and I are happy with what we are paying for it. It is spacious and does not often require maintenance. On the rare occasion that we need maintenance, the maintenance team is very responsive. The front office is also courteous and quick to answer resident inquiries. It definitely does not feel like they stop caring once you've signed your lease.

We are very disappointed that Arrive is raising our rent 15% upon renewal. I would understand the increase if Arrive were making valuable improvements. However, the only improvements I have seen are to things that I never thought were a problem to begin with- they replaced the shingles on the roof, repainted the stripes in the parking lot, and hung up signs in the lots that say, "lock your car, take your keys, hide your belongings." Moreover the issues that I have been complaining about for months have still not been fixed- the hot tub is fake (the heater at the bottom and jets on the side do not work), the video cameras around the front office are fake, the fitness center has minimal equipment and is always too warm, the stationary bikes and elliptical rarely work, and there is almost no free covered/shady parking for residents in the summer. For what I currently pay, I am willing to live with these inconveniences, but not for $300 more than what we pay.

Great Housing but little costly

Good amenities, people and carpet area. But the build quality of the houses is pretty low, we can hear the people on top walking, it's pretty inconvenient.

Arrive on University Review

I was stalked home once by a hobo who tried to rape me but other than that I like it here. Good price, sturdy building, nice floor plan. If there were no hobos I would rate it higher. So I guess my issue is the location.

Crime

Living here is nice, the property manager is really nice, and utilities are fairly new, and maintenance is very receptive and quick. My only complaint is that a homeless man followed me home, snuck through the gate, and dropped his pants and tried to assault me on the property right in front of my door. But, management took it very seriously and reinforced my door with bolts to no charge to me.

Living here is great but expensive

Living here is great. I think is the closest you can be to SMU, because you can even walk there. Administration is very friendly and the apartment is okay. It’s just very expensive and there’s no funnished options

The neighborhood is great. I feel very safe walking alone around the apartment, in the grocery store, and at restaurants nearby.
Super close to SMU, lots of accessible restaurants, stores, gas stations, etc. Easy access to the freeway.
There are a ton of shops and restaurants within walking distance which is great, but there are also a lot of homeless people and some wild stuff going on at night. My boyfriend works the night shift at 7/11 and always comes home with the craziest stories. During the day I would say I love the neighborhood.
The neighborhood is pretty commercial, so it’s not very peaceful…. But lots of good stuff is located very close by or right next to the building (gym/grocery)
Nice, family- and pet-friendly neighborhood. Glencoe Park is right in front of the apartment complex, so there are many families, elderly people, runners, cyclists, dogs, and dog owners walking about the neighborhood. Great area!
Apartments in Old East Dallas are close enough to Uptown and Knox Henderson that you get the city vibe without the city prices. Check out Jimmy's Food Store - an Italian grocery store with THE BEST sandwiches and cannolis!
The vast majority of the tenants are working professionals. I've never seen kids in the complex, and being in my mid-twenties I feel on the young side of the tenants. I've never had unpleasant interactions with the other tenants, everyone keeps to themselves. The complex is close to Skillman and Lovers, so there is plenty of street noise, sirens, etc. but it hasn't been a big bother. It does feel tucked away and not like we're living right on top of a busy street.
The neighborhood is mid-gentrification. There are areas that have been completely gentrified and areas that have yet to be touched. It is definitely a diverse area with a lot of cool restaurants.
