I <3 the Franklin

I absolutely love living at the Franklin. It's a little pricey, but a lot of 2 bedroom units in the area are similarly priced and don't come with the same amenities the Franklin offers. I love having a 24/7 doorman, package service, beautiful gym, restaurant, ballroom and coffee shop all under my roof. The staff goes out of their way to make their residents happy, including monthly happy hours, Friday pretzels and the annual Christmas party. The lobby is so beautiful and I feel so happy living there.

Good living w all the amenities.

Although my rent is on the higher side, my apartment includes w/d, dw, plenty of space w large windows and lots of light, excellent and fast maintenance at no charge, and a very close location to the hospital where I work. If I had to pick again, I would most likely Live here again.

Great Location, great security and managment

The apartment is well managed. There are people at the front desk all the time and are always ready to help with whatever need. The location is great, near subways, bus stations, parks, restaurants, hospitals, stores, etc. Great community, friendly people, great for families especially with kids.

Living at the Ben

I stayed here as a fellow and continued as an attending physician. Very close to everything you need, and the di brunos is a welcome addition. Lobby was renovated few years ago and now has a nice bar with nightly music. Perfect for doctors working at Jeff

Enjoyed every day!

I have enjoyed every day living at The Franklin so far. The employees in the building are extremely friendly. Our unit is spacious and in great condition. The gym is a great amenity. I also really enjoy relaxing in the lobby and grabbing a drink after a long day. Very convenient!

Lovely and clean

Overall, renting at The Franklin was a positive experience. The place was very clean and well kept. My unit itself was pretty spacious but didn't have good lighting. I find the location to be very convenient and close shops and many food options. The biggest con is the fact that it is a bit over priced.

Good Place

I really like the Franklin. The management is great and the apartments are very large for the price, with multiple closets (including walk in). They do not have many fancy amenities, just a gym, but it is really all that you need. I like living in old city because I am close to a lot of the bars and restaurants. They generally respond to maintenance requests very quickly and are overall really reasonable. It is a huge plus having dibrunos bros. attached and a private resident bar with live music on certain nights. Plus , it is pretty cool that Silver Linings Playbook was filmed in their ballroom. Most people who live here are young professionals or young families.

City Living!

The Franklin is the best building I have ever lived in. The individual apartments are beautiful with high ceilings, large windows, and a washer/dryer in unit. The staff is responsive day and night; I called with a problem with toilet at 10 PM and someone fixed it that night. It is also great to have a front desk to accept deliveries, and you get an e-mail notification when they do! It is a convenient and lovely place to live!

Franklin Apartments

The building is very nice, the gym is decent, the apartments are adequate space, and the Dibrunos doesn't hurt either. The rent price increases every year a little more than I think it should. I wish the kitchens were bigger and that we got more natural light! Overall, a good place to live in a great location in the city, but will definitely not be staying long term (more than a few years).

Washington Square West Reviews

30 reviews
Washington Square West is the perfect neighborhood to live in. It boasts a large park to enjoy the outdoors and has great restaurants and bars within walking distance. It's more residential and quieter than other neighborhoods but is extremely accessible to other parts of the city. It feels very safe in this area and has a mix of people who also love living here.
I love Washington Square. The park nearby truly is a joy for my dog and I. Everything is in walking distance: restaurants, night life, tourist spots, PATCO/Subway, parks, Urgent Care/Jefferson, etc. The closest grocery store is five blocks, so, no complaints. Lots of people are always out and about and I've never felt unsafe walking around the area. Old City & Penns Landing are nearby, and so is South St. as well as Center City. It's a wonderful location for any and all ages.
This is the ideal area to live if you're going to Jefferson. Anywhere in Washington Square West will put you around a 5 minute walk to campus. It's incredibly safe and I love that everyone around you is a Jefferson employee. There's tons of bars and restaurants in the area, all within walking distance.
Really close walking distance to all the attractions in Old Town, Reading Terminal Market, shopping on Market Street, good food on Walnut Street, cheap food in Chinatown, AND the subway is right there. On the downside, Market Street often has homeless people between 7th and 10th streets and feels a bit unsafe at night
Best neighborhood. It's fairly quiet yet within walking distance to Whole Foods on South st, Washington square, a number of great restaurants and Jefferson Hospital.
We love living in this neighborhood! It feels safe to walk in at night alone and we live two blocks from Independence Hall! With the new Fashion District under construction, it can get a little noisy at night with the construction.
Great area, lots of young professionals live here. Plenty of things to do and places to eat.
Washington Square is very safe and quiet. Never had any problems living here. It’s a nice bubble away from center city.
