HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE

DO NOT allow law students to live at Advent. This place is the most overpriced, garbage living situation I have ever experienced. The walls are paper thin. You can hear every flush, every conversation, every thump. The residents are rude, loud, and inconsiderate. The management threatens you when you bring issues to their attention and blames you for the issues even existing. Both my roommate and I have had to leave our apartment multiple times for extended periods of time in order to get work done for school because our apartment is too loud to focus and complete our necessary tasks to succeed in law school. This place is probably the worst place a law student, especially a first year law student, could live. DO NOT PUT THIS APARTMENT ON YOUR LIST.

DO NOT LIVE HERE

This place is an absolute disaster. Management is incompetent, disrespectful, and enforces rules arbitrarily. Management also has a tendency to call residents on their personal number and threaten them--as opposed to actually addressing the concerns that the resident raised. The walls are paper thin, and the tenants are incredibly loud and inconsiderate. The units are overpriced and not well maintained. The units lack storage, and many of them don't even have light fixtures. The appliances are barely functional, are in constant need of repair, and make a buzzing noise AT ALL TIMES. The clothes dryer caught on fire, and we can't even find the make or model of the refrigerator that keeps us up at night. Avoid Advenir at all costs.

Decent place but high rent.

It is nice that it is right by campus but the rent is kind of high for the quality of the apartment. However, since it was recently bought out by a new company they are renovating each apartment once the old resident's move out. It is dog/cat friendly which is nice and the gym was recently renovated. It also has a pool and parking isn't an issue. If you have a roommate then the rent is manageable. Probably wouldn't want to live here long term but the location during law school is great. Can go home whenever between classes since it is so close.

Do not live here

Management is incompetent. They failed to fix issues with the unit that were brought to their attention prior to the start of the lease, and have been dismissive of safety and noise concerns on multiple occasions. The rent is overpriced for the size and quality of the apartments, and the surrounding neighbors are extremely loud and disrespectful. The gate at the entrance of the complex is supposed to be an added measure of security, however during the day the gate is always open, and on most nights either the key card or access code to get through the gate malfunction. Approximately 69 sex offenders reside within a mile of my apartment. The parking lot almost always smells like marijuana and the scent sometimes wafts into individual units. Advenir’s positive attributes include a gym, a pool, the fact that the complex is pet-friendly, and proximity to the law school. I’m not convinced that these attributes outweigh the endless agitation that comes with living at Advenir.

Management is very non responsive

Management is very non responsive. They got concrete on my car when doing curb work and denied responsibility. Additionally, we had cockroaches at one point, and they were slow to respond.

Beware

This place is really close to campus, but it is the loudest apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. I have gone many nights not sleeping because you can hear every tv, song, door opening, water running in the units around you. And the management does not seem to care if other residents are causing a nuisance. I warn you about this because 1L year is stressful enough without adding the extra stress of not sleeping and hating your living situation.
With that said, you may have better luck if you are in a top unit rather than on the second or first floor.
