Excellent experience!

This is a very safe place for a woman to live alone!!!!!!!!! Lovely apartment, less than 10 min drive to the law school, and great amenities. It feels like living at a country club. Charming outdoor mall across the street with fun restaurants and stores.

so meh

This place is not worth the rent price. If you move not in the summer, you get a better rent deal. However, the staff is slow to respond. We had our fridge go out for over a day before it was fixed and we had to throw away our food. We were without our mail keys for almost 2 months, and now that we have the mail keys I know that they have mail issues all the time (we are not notified of mailing, and mail is often misplaced). When we first moved in, they didn't want to fix any problems we had (dirty floors and patio, dead frog in the window, shower wouldn't turn on), and it turns out it was because they didn't have a copy of our key. So then they needed my keys for a day and I just avoided having to go home in the meanwhile. Gym is often overcrowded before school and right after work hours. The "free" printer is a straight Lie with a capital L. There were a few car break-ins a few months ago. They decreased rent about $400 from summer to winter, and they offered it to us if we would sign on for another 14 months. So I'm just waiting it out. I think it would be fine if you have a good rent deal. The place itself is nice. Maintenance is the best part about this place, they are so kind and helpful.

Spacious Complex 10 Minuets from Campus

I have really enjoyed living in the complex due to its close proximity to campus, size of apartment, and quietness of the community. The pool and gym and both very nice and clean. I would recommend this complex to all students as it has a nice mix of ages and families.

Quiet place to live near campus.

I have really enjoyed living at James River at Stony Point. There is a nice mix of younger and older residents. It is an easy 10-minute drive to campus and close to other Richmond neighborhoods. The apartments are spacious and were super clean when I moved in. The property in general (i.e., pool, gym, etc.) is well-maintained.

Great place to live

Beautiful apartment, really spacious, and only 7 minutes from school. Pricey but not too bad with a roommate. Floor plans are really convenient for a roommate situation. Not super close to anything (besides school) but right off the highway so quick access to downtown and food. Love it there.

Best Apartment Complex

James River at Stony Point is the best apartment complex that I have ever lived in. The apartments are next to the Stony Point Fashion Park (an upscale, outdoor mall). It's also a 10 minute drive from the University of Richmond. I really like walking from my apartment to Cinebistro for a movie and dinner. The apartments were recently built, so the units are clean, new, and spacious. For example, my unit has new kitchen appliances, a large island with granite countertops, a laundry room (with a side-by-side washer and dryer), and walk-in closets. I even have a balcony with an outside storage closet. This property is well managed and absolutely gorgeous. It includes parking and "trash fairies." (Every night, you put your trash can outside your door and someone empties it for you.) I absolutely love it here!

General

It is a beautiful apartment with amazing amenities. However the water is never warm and it seems that the tenants are absolutely insufferable in regard to noise. This may be due to thin flooring and walls. Management is not very receptive of tenant needs. Rent is known to change yearly by large increases.
