Functional and Presentable for a Decent Price
The apartment looks great and has plenty of space for the price. Appliances are high quality, including laundry. The heat works, and the landlord is responsive to issues (water leaks, especially.) But for as nice as it looks, it’s kind of a veneer - the windows are the cheapest around, so they block no sound and insulate very poorly. The countertops aren’t level/flush, with a seam at the sink, so it wants to separate and needs regular maintenance a sink shouldn’t. In that sense, it feels hollow - gets the basics that are “need to haves” and the “nice to haves,” but hollows out on the “should haves” that explain why the price is what it is.
