The Lodges
Easy parking, tons of people so gym always crowded. Nice apartments though.

Would live here again, but only because options are limited
I've lived at the Lodges for 2 years, and generally enjoyed my experience. I'm a medical student and these apartments are one of the closest to my classes. The staff at the Lodges are very friendly, and there's access to a solid gym, hot tub, pool, and study spaces, all of which I use. There's also a bus system that can take you to classes, but I never used these because I drive my own vehicle. There's included parking, and I never had an issue finding a parking spot right next to my apartment.
For a one bedroom, it's not too small. However, the Lodges aren't the absolute nicest apartments near campus by any means. There's paint on the floors, and the furniture is somewhat worn. I paid nearly $1300/month for rent, and that doesn't include electric (which covers A/C and heat, too) and it doesn't include water as of 2022-2023 school year. In the winter months I paid an extra ~140 (at the most) for utilities. There are definitely nicer apartments that you can stay at for about the same price, but I stayed at the Lodges because of its proximity to my classes.
My biggest complaint about the apartment is the heat/AC vent. It is so loud, it's distracting and it made me hate studying at my apartment. Also, it's constantly turned on in the winter. During the winter months (Nov-March) the heat turns on every 5 minutes for about 10-15 minutes at a time. I can't emphasize enough that it is loud and distracting.
Another aspect that I wish was better about the Lodges is the lighting. It's always just dim inside my apartment, even when all the lights are on. Also, I wish there was more storage space in the kitchen. The one bedroom complexes have 1 drawer and 3 cabinets.
All that being said, I would live here again just because I found it to be the best option in terms of apartment layout, amenities, and proximity to my classes.

Reliable, attentive
Have been living here for 3 years, the only downside is the price. Literally every other aspect is great

Great Apt for Grad Students
I love living at the Lodges and have lived here 3/4 of my years here. The apartments are spacious and relatively quiet. Plus, parking is never a hassle. Not to mention, we have a bus to take us to and from campus.

I like living at The Lodges.
The staff is very friendly and management is very responsive. There are apartments that are newer / nicer inside, but overall I'd choose The Lodges again. The location is very convenient for me, and I think it is more spacious than their near-by competitors.

Love living here
The only complaint is the low amount of insulation, at times it gets a little cold in one of the rooms more than the other rooms. This being said the walls are pretty thin and you can hear a lot through the walls (conversations, zoom calls, etc). If that is not something that bothers you (it did not bother me at all) then this is a perfect place to live.

The Lodges of East Lansing is Great!
The apartments are kept very nicely! The amenities include two gyms, a pool and jacuzzi that are both kept very clean. They have incredible study rooms (includes coffee machines, printers - just bring your own paper - white boards, many chairs and booths) on both sides of the complex which is where my MBA team comes to study often with me on weekends.
It allows for 1 car spot per resident and if you do not drive to campus for school they have the East Lansing 'CATA' public transportation bus in addition to their own private busses that run every 15 minutes that can take you to and from campus!
This place is great and I do recommend it! Although the price comes off steep at first I realized I would be paying just as much in certain other single apartments due to the fact that this one includes most utilities and comes with your own in-unit washer/dryer (other single apartments don't include most utilities in their prices and you will probably not find another apartment complex single unit that has your own washer dryer).
Other small/random key factors to mention
- Third floor has elevated high ceilings giving a much more spacious atmosphere
- Comes with upgraded appliances
- Walk-in closet through your personal bathroom
- Living room comes furnished with couch / coffee table / side table. And you can opt to get your bedroom furnished for an additional fee every month.
