Fischer Graduate Residences Review

Affordable housing for graduate students. Despite this, it is quite far from the Mendoza College of Business among some other graduate schools as well.

Good place to live

Fischer Graduate Residences is a good place to live with a good management company. The maintenance crew is very nice and gets the work done quickly and efficiently. There is a small pest problem in the area, with bushes of spiders outside of the apartments and they crawl into the household. You do need a car if you need to go to the supermarket.

Great apartment for the price

This apartment may not be the newest looking place, however it has everything you need, is clean, and a pretty decent size. Only thing I would want is a little more kitchen counter space but other than that my stay here has been exceptional.

Fischer Graduate Residencies Review

Management is great and resolve any issue as soon as possible. Sharing a bathroom with your roommate is the only difficulty. Otherwise, everything is great.

Convenient location and affordable package

Very easy location on campus close to library and a short walk from academic buildings. Can be difficult to get to grocery stores without a car. Rent is very affordable and includes utilities. Unit is spacious and includes substantial furniture. Management is responsive to concerns and timely.

Fischer

It's not a fancy apartment, but it's a cheap option right on campus within walking distance to the law school. There is no in-unit washer/dryer and no dishwasher.

Can't get closer for cheaper

Living at Fischer is a great choice for a new student. It keeps you walking distance to the law school, is without a doubt the least expensive choice in the area, and the apartments are all furnished. Some issues: the apartments are old and haven't been revamped since they were built (I assume in the 60's-70's). Appliances, carpet, walls, etc. are outdated and sometimes dingy. Also, you still have to pay the university to park, and the office sometimes is hard to get ahold of.

Affordable and Central

Don’t expect any bells and whistles, but the maintenance team is quick and it’s nice to be on campus. It has a great community of people and is a solid entry level option. If you plan on spending most of your time in the library and just want a quiet place to retreat to at the end of the day, this is your place.

Good value

The Fischer apartments are good value for the rent and offer a variety of options for shorter term rentals, even on a semester by semester basis. 15 minute walk to the law school with a shuttle option that is nice when it is cold. Apartments are older but decently maintained. Management is responsive to questions and work orders.

Downsides are no in-apartment laundry (laundry is in the community center) and if you choose the pre-furnished option the beds are twin size and pretty small.

Great Amenities, and Great Location

Fischer is an affordable living space that provides basic necessities from furniture to cable to electric. I don't need to worry about paying anything but rent every month. They also provide snow shoveling, there is a printer in the community center, and a large laundry room. All the necessary amenities for comfortable living are provided. Further, Fischer is located on the corner of campus, so I don't need to worry about driving or parking. I can just walk to class or the library every day, which was perfect for my situation. Also, I got to know my neighbors, and we socialized on a regular basis, so you also get built-in friends when you live in Fischer.
