Location is great! New management has been raising prices and slow to address maintenance issues. Overall, great apartments.

Close to the school

I've enjoyed living at the Jeffersonian for two years. It's right next to the law school and rent is very affordable compared to most other Charlottesville options. The management is notoriously flaky and hard to work with, but that only matters if you have a serious maintenance issue. Fortunately, I haven't had any of those issues since living here. Building is rather old, but you can make the space your own.

The apartment has been extremely convenient for me. It is only a 5 minute walk from the law school and a 5 minute walk to barracks which has all the stores and restaurants you could need.

Great location, maintenance is pretty quick, especially since they just hired another person. Clean, well-maintained generally. A bit dated, but still very nice. Only downside is the communal laundry room, but it's not a major inconvenience. Management is a bit scattered, but overall it's great.

The location to the law school cannot be beat. There are, however, a few drawbacks. There has been a constant carousel of maintenance employees in the building, meaning work orders are slow to be addressed and the property management in general and common areas has lapsed from time to time. The property manager also manages two other properties for Red Tail in the area, meaning she has little to no interest in any one property over the other. Do not expect that she will be responsive to concerns you may have. Rent will almost certainly increase steeply soon, as the units undergo more renovations as longtime tenants move out. The units are small but suitable. Come into the property with the expectation that you will dislike the mangement but enjoy walking to class.

No frills, but comfortable enough apartment. I have a 1BR with a den, so I have a good amount of space for a workspace. Good light on the Arlington Blvd side and some units have updated appliances. Some minor plumbing issues and HVAC leaks occasionally, but maintenance is pretty prompt.

New management is less efficient than before but maintenance is friendly

I love living at the Jeffersonian. The proximity to the Law School makes transit between classes a breeze and you are close enough to walk to the gym and the Barracks Road Shopping Center. Apartments feel dated; however, the allure of living alone at a far less expensive rate than Pavilion or Ivy Gardens greatly outweighs any complaints I have. Management tries their best and some have had mixed experiences, but my experiences have only been good.

Great location to the law school and lots of space. No in-unit washer and dryer, but I think it’s worth dealing with for the space and location.

Great value for a one bedroom apartment walking distance from the law school. The appliances are old but everything works fine and the place is the perfect size for one person. My only complaints are a bugs getting inside and I hear the person above me walking around pretty clearly.
