Not the most updated but worth every penny

Campus View is not the most updated but worth every penny. I live in an unrenovated townhome and it is very spacious and a great location for a very cheap price.

Campus View is the happiest place on earth

- gym has free weights, 2x treadmill, 1x elliptical, and one of the standing weight things for tricep extensions and pullups, etc.
- make sure you get laundry in unit
- ask for a apartment inside a building so it has an entry code
- parking lot is never full
- appliances aren't super but work efficiently
- my apt was newly rennovated and great value
- BIGGEST PROBLEM IS NO LAUNDRY IN-UNIT
- some of the units with direct access from outside (have front doors) have laundry in-unit
- no overhead lighting in tv room
- campus view pool is a vibe in the summer
- front office staff is great (no back office - iykyk)
- thin walls between bedrooms
- OVERALL: would definitely live here again if I could have laundry in-unit

Cockroaches everywhere

First day of law school orientation was also the only day Campus View lets you move in. Campus View did not prepare any of the apartments or apartment keys ahead of time. Instead, at 9:00 AM, with a giant crowd of tenants moving in, the staff was physically making the apartment keys. As though it was a surprise that people actually showed up to move in to the apartments they paid for ahead of time.

I entered my dark studio and thought there were leaves on the floor. Upon closer examination, it was a pile of dead cockroaches. There were dead cockroaches in every cabinet, in the bathroom, in the closets, all over the carpeting, and even in the refrigerator. I thought I could deal with all of this, having lived in tropical places before. But then I opened the dishwasher and a live cockroach was wiggling around. I had to get out of there.

I alerted management that they had breached the warranty of habilitability and I would not be a tenant at Campus View. I spent the next two weeks of law school living out of my suitcase in hotel rooms until I found a place to live. The Campus View staff acted like they were doing me a huge favor by letting me leave.

Also, talk to Prof. Judith Fox about the many Campus View lawsuits.

Cheap, Close, and Not Much Else

Campus View is a very workable living arrangement. It's close to campus and relatively inexpensive. Beyond that, however, there is little to note. The community feels run down, and I've had things stolen from my car. The utilities and appliances in the unit break down frequently, and it can take a few weeks for maintenance to fix issues, even leaking plumbing.

Would Not Recommend Campus View

Very bad experience, only lived there for a year and then moved. The air conditioning didn't work for me when I moved in and they refused to come fix it for a while. The electricity bill was super high from both the AC and the heat because neither worked properly. I was locked out of my mailbox for half of a semester and every time management gave me a new mail key it didn't work. I also had mice in my apartment for a while, which was gross. They also promised to have a gym and pool available, but they were under construction for my entire lease. Overall bad experience, the location close to campus was the only thing I liked about it.

A Good Place to Live

Pretty good apartment complex. Roomy and cheap, you can pay more for an apartment over a townhouse. Management isn't great, but they'll at least take care of things. Cable, internet, and water have all been very fairly priced and easy to take care of.

Spacious and Convenient

My apartment is about a 15-20 minute walk to Mendoza. The apartment is older, but is spacious and conveniently located. There are laundry facilities on site at the clubhouse as there are none in the individual apartments. You are responsible for working with the local electric company to setup an account and this is the major utility for the apartment. The stove, water heater, furnace, and air conditioner all run on electric. The apartments are generally quiet, although there is some party noise from time to time. The apartment I am living in is a bit older so the appliances are older. I brought all of my own furniture, but they do offer a furnished apartment option. The apartment is a bit drafty so it can get cold in the winter.

There are also other amenities on site: pool, workout room, and some small conference rooms.
