Studio apt review
Very close to North Haven campus, within walking distance. Parking in front of building, ample space available, parking lot is safe and well lit. Walk in closets have good storage space. Frequent cleaning needed because of spiders and webs, this is more for ground floor apts. Gym is in building 1, has weight equipment and treadmills. Community room and management office with JFA staff also in building 1. Some apts have a tub and some have a stand shower in the bathroom. Electricity bill is very high for a studio, gas bill is reasonable. Hot water would be part of your electricity bill. Heat requires gas but also electricity because of the system. Thermostat in unit. Management is responsive but carefully read the lease so they don't charge you for a technicality, they will be ready to do that but it's not an issue if you pay rent on time. Rents do increase significantly each year. Rent can be dropped off in building 1 or check placed in the secure box outside the building. You can enter the building main door via key fob, phone number, or key. Front side apts towards parking lot will get some sunlight, apts towards the back will not get much sunlight. If you live near main entrance staircase, you will hear noise of people climbing stairs.

Great location to North Haven campus.
Great location, but loud road noise and not much to do close by.

Fantastic place to live!
Living at the Flats is perfect! It’s located right next to the North Haven campus. Laurie in the office is amazing and will quickly work to resolve any issues you have. I live with my fiancé and two dogs and love the fact that there is a small dog park. The rent is higher because of the two dogs ($60/dog) so without that we would be paying $1900 total. Apartments are clean and up to date. I feel safe. Overall, great place to live.

Newly built, convenient, and clean apartment complex!
This apartment has been everything my fiance and I needed to make it through my medical school journey! The location is close to grocery stores, outlets, and the highway. Our space has worked well, with the attached porch and free parking. The appliances are new and the complex is clean! Highly recommend!

Pros and Cons of the Flats
Pros: Very close to North Haven campus so the most convenient option. Parking spots ample. Can drop off rent payments at office in Building 1, so don't have to mail. Management is responsive. Walk-in closets. Quinnipiac shuttle bus can make a stop at this complex and connects to all QU campuses. Building complex has laundry room, community room, small gym.
Cons: Rent is expensive. Very high electricity bills. Have to purchase separate laundry card and put money on it to use the washer and dryer. Not much sunlight. If you live near the main entrance, very loud noises of people climbing on stairs. Elevator only in Building 1 (so rents there are more expensive), not Buildings 2 or 3.

Excellent
Great place right next to school and in middle of Y3 rotation sites (Hartford vs. Bridgeport). Great quality rooms. Best if split with another person. Not that bad on budget if done this way.

Flats at 520
I chose this location since it's very close to campus, literally a one minute drive or ten minute walk. It's quiet, safe, and close to grocery stores in North Haven and Wallingford. The management is responsive, but the laundry unit in my building is not well maintained, so I end up using the one in the building next to mine (part of same property). Besides that I have not had any issues living here and would highly recommend it.
