Chowning Square

Honestly I'm a big fan of the apartment, the location is great, right on the bus line and walkable to Publix, Walgreens and a 5 minute drive to Target, Trader Joe's and canes. The amenities are okay, the gym is small but has what you need, the pool is pretty nice. Management is great and super reachable and maintaince is speedy. The parking situation gets a little annoying since there's no assigned parking, but there's always a spot for everyone.

Chowning has both apartments and townhouses for rent. The community and location are great. It’s a little older, but many units have been updated. They allow 2 pets per unit. Maintenance is very responsive and things are always fixed within 24 hours of a week day.

My place has all the basics that I need! I wish there were a communal study space and some outdoor seating options, but I can find those in other places on my own. The location is convenient, and the bus is close. I wish there were some more coffee shops/study spaces within walking distance, but Starbucks will do :) and everyone drives around here so much that it's just an added perk to have places within walking distance but not a necessity. We split the 2BR/2BA w/ a study between three people, and that helps to make the rent cheaper, too.

The apartment is roughly a 12 minute drive from campus, but traffic is never an issue, and it is a safe and quite location. Walking proximity to campus and bars is only inconvienence. Rent is cheap but place is very satisfactory and well maintained with good utilities

A little on the expensive side, but it's outside of the hustle and bustle of the city while still being accessible to campus (right on a bus line that takes you directly to Vandy). Very pet friendly.
