Tight Space but Great for Families
The apartments are well maintained and new. The floor plans are economical but are a tight fit for families of 4+. However, the rent is low, close to campus, and the staff is supportive.

The landings at Notre Dame
The complex is meant for graduate/doctorate with tamiles but if they have spare apartments they will open it to everyone. It’s very quiet and relatively close to campus with plenty of parking and a bus that runs to campus. The apartment itself is very spacious and beautiful.

Wouldnt reccomend it
The construction materials used to build the landing are of very poor quality. The walls are paper-thin, as are the windows, and you can feel the cold bleeding through them in the winter. There is a very loud highway behind the complex, and you can hear the constant droning of trucks.
The parking is $200 a year, and the whole location is very secluded - not any nearby amenities, and you might feel isolated socially. ALL UTILITIES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RENT LIKE A NORMAL RENT - you will be charged for water, trash removal, etc., so the effective rate will be higher.
Finally, the actual apartments DO NOT HAVE DOOR CHAINS, and the maintenance man, has on occasion, knocked quickly and entered without notice. The police and fire departments will also have a key to your unit, so look elsewhere if you value your privacy, peace of mind, and 4th amendment rights.

The Landings
The Landings is a great place for families, single students, or married couples. Apartments are basically new (renew two years ago), every complex unit has its own access, parking is accessible, school buses come into the facilities, the internet is provided by the University of Notre Dame so you can have access to the VPN and it works generally pretty good. It's a quiet complex, there is a playground and a lot of space for the kids to play, it is within the Family Center which is a plus if you have little kids. In general terms, the management is really efficient. The only thing that I would try to improve is to match the term leases with the schedule of classes.

Living in The Landings
It is definitely worth the price. The quality is excellent. The only downside is that we have no space in The Landings to meet up with friends. It is also a little further from school than other houses. But the cost-benefit is really worth it. Great environment, and quality of apartments.

Two leases with no early termination
I had to do two leases with the Landings. One from May to July, and another from Aug to July. Management team wouldn't allow early termination after graduation in May.

If you have a car, it's okay to live
The management office is not so responsible. Tend to avoid to fix difficult and expensive issues like boiler and hot water. Shuttle doesn't run during weekends, breaks, and other event times. Far from everything. If you don't have a car, not a good choice.

Landings Review
It’s a tight space but well kept. The short walk to the playground and family resource center is a huge plus. The staff is very accommodating and helpful.

Safe, Clean, Noisy
It is a great place to live. I feel safe living there on the first floor. I like how clean the rooms and hallways are. The apartments themselves are really smartly organized. I love having the laundry in the bathroom. The bedrooms are small, so I've enjoyed the extra space of having a second bedroom (for only $50 more per month). There's also an extra storage space (3'x4' with a height of about 9 feet). I've gotten used to driving to campus (it's too far to walk to my classes). My only issue is the noise from the family with children above me. On the other hand, there aren't any annoying parties that go late into the night, so that's a plus.
