Phi Rho!

Phi Rho is a great experience for people interested in communal living with others. I would say the primary benefits are having free chef prepared meals for lunch and dinner every weekday and significantly lower rent than the average in Ann Arbor along with having an instant community of other med students across all years to connect with! The primary drawback would likely be that since it is an older house, maintenance can be a challenge at times but it comes with the benefit of significantly lower rent.

Great Community, Old House

Phi Rho Sigma is an amazing community of medical students. You will always find people here you can get along with who understand your experience and can help you navigate through life as a medical student. However, the house is really old so you need to be ok with living in it. I still consider it the best bang for your buck as you get all amenities included in rent including groceries, snacks, a chef, and cleaning services that clean the common areas.

LIVE AT PHI RHO!

I am so happy I decided to live at Phi Rho! We are a co-ed medical school fraternity that houses 25 medical students. We live in a beautiful tudor-style home a 5-minute walk from the library and main medical campus. The community is strong and you will find upperclassmen mentors and we are always having movie nights, playing board games and getting food together. We also have a chef who cooks delicious healthy meals for us lunch and dinner every weekday. Please consider living with us :) No pets - sorry!

we <3 phi rho

phi rho is a great place to live for the community. you live with other med students of all classes, which is great for guidance when it comes to navigating a career in medicine and consulting with upper classmen about how to really succeed on this journey. its also super close to the hospital (very important for clinical year), and we get groceries and 10 meals a week provided by a chef. we also have a gym!! there are definitely pros and cons to such communal living - smaller rooms and less privacy in common spaces, but its a great deal and ive made some of the best friends of my life living here and experiencing med school alongside them. its so nice to come home from a long day to a home-cooked meal and a dinner table full of friends

Meals Included, Extremely Close to Med School

Living at Phi Rho has been so much better than I expected! Even though it is a co-ed house with 26 people total, I have not had to really wait for the bathroom and the price is wonderful considering that we have a chef who cooks us lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. The food is really good. We also have a small gym and a couple of TVs in the house, as well as a guest room that we can have people over for free. We also have someone cleaning our bathrooms twice a week. Finally, the location is also amazing. It is only a 5 minute walk to the medical school and yet it is fairly close to the rest of Ann Arbor, much more so than theWhite Coat area. The major minus side is that the house is old, pets are not allowed, and some rooms are fairly small. Sound does not travel well between floors, which is nice, but you can hear your roommates' doors closing or people talking in the hallway.
