Great location, cute space
I live 3 blocks from the law school which is perfect! It takes me about 7 mins to walk to class everyday. My apartment is a little bit small, but I have a proper living room that’s separate from my bedroom, my own kitchen, etc. all within a large house on a residential street. Laundry unit is in the basement shared amongst all 7 apartments in the house.

Bright and spacious, but landlord special
The apartment has beautiful hardwood floors and big windows - I love that there’s a separate study area. Michigan Rental unfortunately did not clean before I moved in… there also was not AC… But it’s very close to campus and has a lot of great storage and character

Old house
Cons: It is an old house. Because of its age, it feels kind of dirty (no matter how much you clean!) and has some weird quirks. The bathroom is very small.
Pros: Great location. It is a quick walk to school and restaurants/bars. It is very inexpensive relative to other options in Ann Arbor.

Older Building Could be Quaint, But Not Well Maintained
I have a 1BR with exposed brick and wood floors. It could be a wonderful space but slowly you realize the flaws —the floors are incredibly uneven, all maintenance by Cappo has been shoddy and quickly done, leaving the apartment in poor condition.
The landlord is typically good about fixing things, but in one instance we lacked running water for 8 days because we were sick and they refused to enter the apartment while we were sick.
You have to threaten to withhold rent to get them to act sometimes, which is stressful.
But it is 5 minutes from campus.
