Willow & Wise Experience
Overall, a good experience. This apartment complex is new, modern, and close to school. The short commute time to the law school and to major highways is itself a huge plus. Management generally responds quickly to maintenance requests, and the staff is friendly. My rent wasn't increased by an unreasonable amount after the first year. Gated structure parking is included in your monthly rent, which is great, especially with the unpredictable weather at times. The management team hosts several community-oriented events each month, which are fun if you are into that kind of thing. There are several great restaurants, bars, and shops near the apartment complex. On occasion, Main Street is closed for fun community events. Even though this apartment complex is near other businesses, noise is not a major issue, unlike in other communities. The area is generally safe to walk around at night. However, still be mindful of your surroundings as there are sometimes individuals you want to steer clear from, especially late at night. Even though this apartment complex is close to campus, you still want to drive to school instead of walking. This is because there is an underpass on your route to school where unhoused people are most often.

Expected More!
Good amenities and location (obviously), but I would not recommend these units for law students. My worst complaint is the noise. The walls are super thin. And they play music from 8AM - Sunset in the community courtyard. Build quality is cheap. Also, I had pest and maintenance issues a few weeks after move-in. Mind you, I was one of the first tenants to move in the building. If you can afford Near Southside, I suggest looking around the major hospitals around Magnolia Ave. At least you'll get cover from power outages during deep freezes.
