No Laundry Service
Washburn South is a pretty decent apartment complex. They do a good job maintaining the property and responding to maintenance requests. However, one important thing to be aware of is that most buildings do not have a washer and dryer. When we moved in, we were told that one would be installed by October (we moved in August), but that never happened. We later found out that this property hasn’t had laundry services for about five years — they just told us it would be installed so we wouldn’t hesitate to move in.
This might not seem like a major concern at first, but it becomes a real issue if there isn’t a laundromat close by. So, before you sign anything, make sure to confirm whether the specific building you’re assigned to has laundry facilities. It will save you a lot of trouble later.
Apart from this, it is a pretty decent place to live. The campus is close, and the area is peaceful.
