Be prepared for a $300 rent hike after a year

Decent introductory rent pricing for a year, but yeah .... be ready to either move (and lose your security deposit to professional carpet cleanings), or to pay the jacked up rent of atleast $200-300 every year, year after year. Otherwise its good, decent amenities.

Harbor Steps

I moved into the Harbor Steps with my husband two months ago when his job moved him to Seattle from Baltimore. I absolutely love Seattle and the Harbor Steps Apartments are very chic and safe. Compared to Baltimore this is literally heaven. I would highly recommend living here.

Harbor Steps

The Harbor Steps are extremely convenient for me and my work schedule. I am quite literally "steps" from my office and the best restaurant, bars, and shopping that Seattle has to offer. I love my neighbors even though many of them are elderly. You'd think they'd be turned off by the word steps.

Living

I've definitely enjoyed living at the Harbor Steps since I moved here 4 years ago. I'm a part time resident and spend the rest of my year living in Dallas. One thing I've noticed is that many of the residents appear to be using their units on AIRBNB. Is this allowed by building management?

Location location location

We love being in the center of the city, 2 blocks from Pike Place Market, the Symphony Hall, Aquarium, the Art museum, and all the restaurants and shops. The concierge team and the maintenance crew here are nice, but the buildings are not so new. After living here for over 3 years, I dislike the fact that there's only 2 elevators serving 25 floors of residents in the NE tower, and 1 is often times broken/reserved for moving. The wait time for an elevator could be up to 10 minutes in those cases. Secondly, they raise your rent each time when you renew. I don't know if this is unique to Harbor Steps, but it's always a low point. Oh - and because they are an older establishment, they are trying to renovate a lot of the units. It's great for new comers, but for the rest of the residents, it means constant renovation noise all day long. Urh.

Downtown Seattle Reviews

4 reviews
In the center of all of the Amazon buildings, so bars/restaurants/Whole Foods are full practically 24/7, but easy walk to the market, the stadiums, and convenient delivery services. I wouldn't recommend living here without a car.
This building is close to shopping and restaurants/ very safe area / there used to be minimum noise, however, there is construction of a building across the street, which is very noisy at night.
Pros: super close to offices if you work downtown. There are a lot of great restaurants in downtown, Belltown within walking distance. Grocery shopping is surprisingly easy with city Target and Kress nearby.

Cons: Lots of homeless people around. While most of them are harmless, occasionally one or two may try to pester you. Stay away from 3rd ave. Also - you are pretty much guaranteed to smell people smoking pot on the street if you walk around here. Some people on 3rd even look like they can sell you some. Well - it's legal, but still, not something I want my baby to get accustomed to...
New restaurants are also popping up like Skillet, Marination, Potbelly. Again, close to my work and the bus lines. Very close to Whole Foods too so that's convenient.
