StuyTown is great

I've had a great time at StuyTown. I actively avoided it during my apartment search, until one broker took me to see the apartments. I immediately fell in love. The apartments are some of the biggest you will find for that price in all of NY.

No serious complaints

It kind of feels stale, but it definitely gets the job done. Huge bedroom with a walk in closet and another closet and the windows have a view of the empire State building. Elevator and laundry room downstairs (though that's $5/load). Lots of other amenities that make it a pretty easy place to live. Our water was brown for a second once.

Love it here!

I love living in StuyTown. It is a distinct neighborhood from where the office is in midtown and requires commuting by subway, but my commute to the office from 14th Street and Avenue A takes about 30 minutes door-to-door. StuyTown is very much its own community -- there is a lot of greenspace in between the buildings, there are two gyms for residents, an outdoor gym behind my building, basketball courts, playgrounds, etc. There are several resident services (i.e. child care, dog walkers, cleaning services, on-site maintenance workers). When I work late and take a car service home from the office, it takes between 10-20 minutes to drive home, depending on traffic. The neighborhood feels safe, generally.

Couple - moved from Chicago with dog

Stuytown was perfect for us because we only had one day in NYC to find our apartment before we moved here from Chicago. Since the property is so large, Stuytown is run like a well oiled machine, making it easy to take care of the rental setup process from a different city. It is also the perfect place if you are moving to New York with a dog because there are walking paths and grass within the Stuytown community. Another bonus is that Stuytown is within walking distance to Stern.

Love it!

Stuyvesant Town is worth the slightly higher rent it charges. The apartments are renovated and well-sized for NYC. Maintenance is super responsive - if anything goes wrong, it is fixed same-day. The amenities are also really nice, especially for busy business school students. They have package delivery to your door (behind a locked entrance, so you don't worry about them getting stolen); they shovel during snowstorms; there is 24/7 security of the property; they have seasonal events (farmers markets, ice skating rink, holiday decorations).

Convenient, quiet neighborhood

There is a NYU shuttle(Route C) that runs around the complex M-Th mornings. Very convenient to go to school.
Pretty quiet neighborhood.

Great Value for Students

Stuytown is a unique place to live in NYC. It is good value for students with roommates and the management is easy to work with. I recently moved out because it was too far for me to get to school, but otherwise I would have stayed.

The place is amazing

Stuy town is amazing. It has a small town feel so perfect for ppl that like the quiet life, while still being in middle of alphabet city/ easy village. Only down side is lack of lighting, but i got lamps so it wasn't a big deal

Solid Place

Great place but expensive. Incredibly convenient for Stern students (there are tons of them here). StuyTown feels almost like it's own small town (hence the name).

Midtown Reviews

I always feel safe and welcome. The people are very nice and talkative. The sights are truly remarkable and living in Midtown is an extraordinary experience, especially with the bar and restaurant scene, the entertainment scene, and so forth. Even Central Park is a wonderland to explore in itself and can be done freely. What's also a highlight about this location is the accessibility of places and people around you; everything is in walking distance, unless you're looking to venture to another area of New York City. You will never run out of places to explore and people to engage with, as people are always traveling to and from New York City - it is a melting pot of many cultures and ethnicities and one of the most diverse places in the world.
I LOVE living in Chelsea. It's close enough to the office so the commute isn't bad but there is so much good food and nightlife around you so you feel very connected socially.
Center of the Universe, between time square and central park.
For commute to school, the NYU shuttle is extremely convenient with travel time under 15mins.
Great bars and restaurants, and close to Central Park, but a distinct lack of affordable grocery options.
5 minute walk to Trader Joe's. Target in-building. Fairway 3 minute walk away. Several bars and restaurants nearby on Third Ave. 40 minute walk to Washington Square Park area. 10 minute walk to the closest subway (the 6), but there are bus lanes nearby. Incredibly close to two major hospitals (great during the COVID age, but lots of ambulance sirens).
See first thing I wrote. Kips bay/murray hill has a great bar and restaurant scene, very young. You don't really go out Friday/Saturday night here, not enough dancing type bars, but it's awesome for just about every other occasion. Central location for everywhere that you would go in any situation though.
Great food, bars, and people and very close to multiple modes of transport to easily get anywhere in the city. There are several bus stops right at your doorstep and a ferry about a two minute walk over on the Ave C side. Easy access to East River Walk for other activities and sports as well. Very easy to get to major hub at Union Square by foot or transport.
