I really enjoy living in Southie, the community is (generally) pretty safe, there are not many T options, but there are multiple bus options that connect to T stops. There is also many great restaurants, most of them are not huge chains so they are all different. Parking in southie is not great, but if you know where to look you can find a spot most of the time.

In South Boston, I feel that you get more space in apartments than you would find within a rental in the city. However, it is very up and coming, so rents have been on the rise! There are tons of new shops and restaurants coming to the area, and it is a great place to start a family.

Pros: close to the highways, airport, water. Cons: lots of construction in the area, lots of basics and bros walking the streets to the bars in the evening which are a bit irritating. I'm glad I have a car because there isn't a walkable grocery store or CVS in the area.

The Seaport District has developed into a 18 hour-a-day community with office, residential, retail, and restaurants. The inclusion of the new parcels being developed closer to the Financial District will only continue this trend.

Wish there was a grocery store! Close to the T. Quiet in the mornings -- lively at night. Great for listening to concerts. You grow accustomed to the fish smell.

Even though Seaport might look far in the map, it takes you around 20 minutes to commute to Babson because you take the Highway and there is no need to loose time in traffic or through traffic lights.
Besides, the area if very safe, has a very nice ambiance, lots of things going on all the time, immense options of restaurants, cafes, bars, etc.
You can leave in the middle of the city in modern buildings. All buildings have underground parking.
