Munger Graduate Residences reviews and highlights

- most bedrooms don't have windows
- brand new building with fully upgraded appliances
- everyone gets their own bathroom
- spacious living area
- best place to live in terms of value
- centrally located
Munger is pretty nice
6-7 other grad student roommates but you all have your own bedroom and bathroom so it's pretty chill. Can be a little noisy depending on your roommates and what you all agree on and how close your room is to the living room. Decent gym upstairs with solid assortment of cardio equipment. Really nice upstairs study spaces including quiet study space and there are plenty of private rooms that can be reserved. Bike rooms in the basement. Biking to Taubman is like 15 minutes including getting your bike out and everything. The walk is about 25 minutes, so it's not the closest option but it's not bad. You're walking distance from all the AA restaurants and cafes which I think makes up for it. Nicely pre-furnished. Big TVs in each room. A convenience store upstairs that comes in handy sometimes. Bedrooms don't have windows. Doesn't bother me but it does bug some people.

Great value but no window in your room
It was a really nice place to live and make friends, especially if you want to get a break from seeing the same people and groups at your school/community. Many activities and events.
Roommates can be upside (become your Ann Arbor's family and friends) or downside (annoying, noisy).
Most of the bedroom do not have windows, but for me it was not a problem (can take a nap between classes uninterrupted).
Close to downtown, only ~10 mins walk to Ross and other central campus location, an advantage during the winter.
Fire alarm goes off easily and can make you being evacuated in the middle of the cold night.

Great if you get used to no windows
I have really enjoyed the trans-disciplinary life at Munger as it helped me break out of the business school bubble. It is also a very convenient housing option with all furnishings, facilities and a great location.

Great grad housing facility
Munger started out as a transdisciplinary housing initiative, but over last year, it has become just another grad dorm. You will live in apartments with 5 or 6 other room-mates, and the living situation will be what you make it to be.
The common areas are spacious, bright, and well appointed, but the bedroom is just about the right size. However, the deal-breaker for many is the lack of windows in the bedrooms (in about 80% of the bedrooms). If that is a concern, stay away.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay here - it is centrally located and near everything that I could possibly want. The large common areas in the basement and 8th floor are a boon for exam prep and assignments. The gym on the 8th floor also has an outdoor running track.

Easy Option for those looking to live close to Ross
Munger is brand new and is very well furnished. It is close to Ross and most other things on campus. The only downside is the lack of windows in bedrooms.

Living in Munger with 6 Roomates
Great location from Ross. Close to all the bars and common hangout locations. Munger offers great study rooms when Ross rooms have full reservations for the day. The massage chairs are great.
The fact that is no windows in the rooms did at first scare me. But with the type of class schedule, one has, its perfect if you want to take a nap or your schedule is opposite to that of daylight.

Munger Review
Munger is a great place to meet people from other schools while living in a spacious apartment. It also provides ample amount of space for studying and meeting rooms. The apartment is great for social activities which include a games room and a mini theater. The only downside to living at Munger is the lack of windows in most rooms.

Munger
I wish the seats in the room are better. It is not really comfortable to do anything. I am fine with using the common space but sometimes having a decent chair in your own room helps me with my productivity

Cons: Have to walk a few blocks to get to real restaurants (like 2-3 blocks).
