Nice building

Nice building. No common area though. Apartments are individually owned so value could vary widely depending on the owners.

Fantastic 8 Story Building

Great apartment at a reasonable price in a great location. The staff of the building are extremely nice and professional and get to know every single resident.

Units are individually owned, so it can be a bit of a search to get into the building, but you will not regret it.

Water is included in rent, but electricity is not. Electricity is usually 20-30 for a single resident.

Excellent experience

The Belgravia is a diamond in the rough - a wonderful find! The staff is attentive, caring and helpful. The outside is historic while inside the apartments are very modern. The gym is well equipped and rarely busy. The community is wonderful! Pet friendly and lots of other students and young families are around. Only two blocks from the bus stop and from the trolley stop, right next to Sweetgreen and in the heart of Rittenhouse Square.

Great Units

Great, recently renovated units with plenty of sunlight, spacious floor plans. I have had no issues whatsoever. I believe all units are individually owned condo's. My landlord is extremely friendly and responsive.

The building is not as social as some of more expensive high rises, but is centrally located enough that it only takes a few minutes to get to most of center city.

A Hidden Gem - Best Location and Great Management at The Belgravia

The Belgravia is a small condo building and is a hidden gem for Wharton students. It is a small building, which means that the management knows everyone by face and by name so the building is extremely safe. Additionally, the location is excellent - it's located a block from the trolley on 19th and Market, two blocks from the Walnut street bus stop that goes to campus, and the bus coming from campus stops right outside the front door. It's conveniently located near a Starbucks, restaurants, a CVS and Rittenhouse Square. The outside is historic but the inside is very modern. There's a gym and a mailroom, and 24 hour concierge. The maintenance staff is quick to respond and very courteous. An excellent find and great value for money! Pet and family friendly.

Spacious and beautiful but with some issues

My apartment itself and a few other that I've seen in the building are all beautiful. Spacious, hardwood floors, plenty of windows. Unfortunately there are a couple things that are left to be desired. Closet/cabinet space is very limited but that's something I knew coming in. Management however really needs some help scheduling their maintenance checks. The building had new Windows installed on the front of the building and the coordination between the window installers, painters, and screen installers was essentially nonexistent.

While future residents probably don't need to worry about a new set of window installs for years to come, the limited amount of coordination abilities shown will permeate into other facets of building management.

Also, this place is beautiful and I love it but it's truly a pain to move into. You have to reserve the elevator for a couple hours and you can only move in at that time. Unfortunately, more often than not, multiple tenants may be moving out of the building as well so you end up with a traffic jam and a time count down. There's also a couple hundred dollar fee just to move in and another couple hundred bucks to move out.

Updated, spacious apartments with a strong management team

This is an amazing building for students if you can find an apartment! There is a gym, excellent building staff and management company, and it is well-maintained. Safety was key as I am a young woman living alone, and the area is well-lit, right across from Boyds, and the building requires a key fob for entry. Every apt has its own washer/dryer and is newly updated. Overall, this is a great place to live.

Great place for grad students!

The Belgravia is an amazing place to live (if a unit is available)! There are only 52 units and most are owned, but people occasionally sublet. The location is close by everything you need, the doormen and management are always friendly, and I have always felt safe. The location is definitely walk-able to campus without being right by campus. There is no parking, but there are plenty of garages close-by (very expensive but they are there). Each sublet unit has different landlord rules (ex. mine unit does not allow pets but other landlords do). Each unit has a washer & dryer, which is hard to find in center city. Overall, I love living here and definitely recommend it.

Rittenhouse Square Reviews

Walnut street is very safe - there's always people around and it's well lit. The neighborhood includes all of the fun aspects of living in Philadelphia - tons of access to food and bars, nearby grocery stores/markets, access to the parks and the Schuylkill River Trail
Very close to fun restaurants/bars/shops. Close to the subway as well as the train station (suburban station).
Rittenhouse is the safest part of Philly. It's a very "happening" part of town—lots of restaurants and bars on every street. At the same time, it's right next to more residential neighborhoods to walk around in and explore. It's a great place to live relatively close to the law school but with a degree of separation so as not to get trapped in the law school bubble.
The neighborhood is both quiet and lively. There is so much around, but I have never had an issue sleeping or studying because there is too much noise. The broad street line is a 10-15 minute walk away and we are close to shopping, food, the park, and the river trail. Has everything within a 10-15 walk.
This neighborhood has everything I need within walking distance. Shops, grocery stores, parks, the subway and trolley, post office. You name it. It's very safe and extremely quiet, which helps when I'm trying to study. The Rittenhouse Square area is really the best place to live in Philly if you don't mind paying a little more.
I love this neighborhood and knew I wanted to live here when beginning my apartment search. The park is one of my favorite places in the city, and I love being able to easily access all the restaurants and shopping nearby. It's also an easy (~20 minute) walk to Penn Law, and the walking commute has always been a nice and peaceful part of my day.

Spruce Street in particular is great - it's a little south of the square, so is quieter/shielded from a lot of the traffic that the neighborhood gets, but it's not out of the way or far away. There's a Starbucks, a grocery store (Rittenhouse Market), and a few corner stores (Four Seasons and Food & Friends) within a 2-3 minute walk of my apartment.
Love the neighborhood, Rittenhouse Square is beautiful and we are so close to the more commercial areas like Walnut Street while not being in the center of the craziness. Plus we are within walking distance of public transportation including 10 minutes from the 15/16 street PATCO station. I personally think it is one of the best areas of Philly to live in.
Rittenhouse Square has a park in the center surrounded by a bookstores, restaurants, and a public library. It is open to pets and often has open art / food markets on the weekends. It is close to the Broad Street Line and PATCO. There are many families who live in the area. It is affordable compared to other major cities (NYC, DC, Boston), but there are certainly more affordable areas in Philadelphia, simply without the luxury of being so close to Center City.
