Baity Hill

Carolina's Premier Apartment Community for Graduates and Student Families
Located right off the UNC-Chapel Hill campus, Baity Hill is known as a fantastic place to live for those who want to avoid the undergraduate scene but still be close enough to campus. The apartments in Baity Hill are new, well maintained, and are said to have great value for the cost of rent. It's a very short trip to the center of campus via a free shuttle and is extremely/safe quiet.

Reviewers say it's great for families and mature individuals but its not close to many amenities. You'll have to venture outside of the complex to find restaurants and nightlife. However, as for quality of living in the Chapel Hill area, it's hard to beat Baity Hill.

Quality Living
Baity Hill — 9/10 Rating (based on 24 neighborhood reviews)
The neighborhood is very convenient for business grad students, however, it is far from everything else. You need to get a car for everything, except going to school. It still compensates, given that uber is cheap in the region and the convenience to go to school is amazing.

It is next to school, which allows walking to class. It takes a good 25 minutes to get to Franklin. Quiet, safe, and well connected.

Just the housing and business school. Nothing in vicinity. However, with Bus and P2P you can be on Franklin Street in 10 mins.

Because of thin walls, there is an issue between neighbors.
However, it is an endurable thing.

Neighborhood feels super safe. Little kids will like the playground on-site. Lots of friends for them to play with. Elementary school (Glenwood) is awesome, if not old. Plenty of community events to meet people and for kids to play. I like it here, and recommend it to most people.

You'd heat the occasional screams of a child in the hallway of from next door but where won't you... Its a generally calm neighborhood with respectful and polite residents (predominantly other graduate students)

Not too many options for groceries, but you can ask for Instacart delivery and that problem is solved. Next to bus stop and very close to campus makes this place perfect for two years of your life.

Baity Hill accommodates singles, couples, and families, and the neighborhood is very diverse. There are common areas to meet within the community, and you have great access to different areas of campus. The area is very safe at all hours, with minimal noise. Grocery stores are just a couple of miles away - you can get there by driving, convenient public transit, or the UNC shuttle service.
