Yorktown

Yorktown is a small neighborhood in North Philadelphia, which is a very popular area for students at Temple University because of the affordable housing and location. It is just South of Temple and has easy access to Center City as well. Most of this area is just residential, but with the easy access to public transportation, it is easy to get around the rest of the city when looking for things to do. Take a walk to the Pearl Theater which has some of the newest and best movies playing in this movie theater. It is a great place to go to and has new reclining chairs. You can also take a bus to Center City and see places like City Hall or check out the multiple museums in the area, like the National Constitution Center.
There are not that many places to eat in Yorktown, but if you go just outside of the area, you will find all the food you need within walking distance. Larry’s Steaks is on W Girard Ave. that has a 2 foot cheese steak. Trying as many cheese steaks as you can in Philadelphia is fun to compare, so be sure to check this place out. Right down the street from this is Happy Joy which is a small breakfast restaurant to stop in when you have a morning off. The prices are very affordable and the food is great. Be sure to try the waffles at least once because it is highly recommended. Yorktown is a nice, small neighborhood to live in with that is very easy to commute and has affordable housing.

decent residences behind the apartment. the area is constantly being improved, especially with Temple expanding. there are sufficient lights up and down broad street.
