Beware of the "Perks" / Management is Terrible
I had a terrible experience with the management company after the front desk at 2040 Market signed for a package of mine (worth $250!), lost it, and then the company refused to take responsibility. That's patently incorrect--what they really meant to say is "we know you won't pursue this." The person at the front desk told me he remembered signing for the package, confirmed that he did sign for it, and said he didn't know where it went. I'll spare the details, but tried and failed to speak to management in person and via email and kept getting the same line: "Unfortunately, PMC is not liable for resident packages." Eventually, someone said they'd deliver it to my door if it ever turned up, but of course, it never did. The worst part was the day after I reported the incident, the management company sent an email to all residents in the building saying that if anyone wanted packages delivered from here on out, he or she would have to sign a release explaining the management company would not be liable for any lost packages they signed for. This was such slap in the face. I never signed any release.
Also, know that if you plan on moving here with a dog (as they heavily advertise that they allow dogs), the building company recently issued a memo about dogs relieving themselves in front of the building. The management company said they may decide to stop allowing dogs. So, they might decide to kick out the tiniest member of your family after you've moved in and paid a pet fee because other resident pet owners are making it harder for them to rent out the units.
Finally, this place is far from a "24 hour doorman building," and if they advertise as such, know that that is a lie. The doorman or woman shows up at 4pm. (Unless of course they're referring to the doorman at 2040 Market, another building entirely, who may sign for and lose your package.)
The walls are incredibly thin and the electric bill in the summer can be surprisingly high. (I paid close to $200 one month for electric alone, even though I kept the air down and turned off the central air every time I left.)
...But other than that, it's a large apartment above a Trader Joe's, so I wouldn't blame you if you moved in.

Great Space
The apartment is beautiful. Spacious, bright, and has a wall of windows with a view. It's also ideally located in front of a trolly line and sits atop Trader Joe's.

Good bang for the buck
It's really good value for a pretty big 1 Bedroom apartment. Management is very fast reacting to maintenance requests and the 2040 Market Street parent building has amenities that are available to us as well. The two downsides are that the apartment fixtures are a little old so no luxury here AND the walls are thin so you can always here neighbors yelling on the phone or watching TV too loudly.

Great location, terrible management
The space is awesome--the high ceilings are really fantastic and there is a lot of room for what you pay. The management is awful, and you should be aware of that. It's not that debilitating as long as you don't have any major problems, but if you are looking for an easy relationship with management, look elsewhere. That being said, given the location right above trader joe's and in front of the trolley, I would still select to live here if I had to start all over again.

High ceilings, huge windows, and right next to Trader Joes!
This building is a great location, above trader joes, a trolly stop on the corner, a 15-20 minute walk to campus. The apartments are a reasonable size, fairly open, with 14 foot ceilings and 10ft windows. I love living there. It is a bit expensive but toally worth it for me. I like being a little farther away from campus and living in center city is wonderful.

Awesome location and not that expensive
Right above Trader Joes and the 22nd street trolley stop.

Definitely worth considering
This is a pretty no-frills building, but in my opinion there are some convenience factors that make it worth a look, including: large apartments for the price, very high ceilings, Trader Joe's on ground floor, proximity to trolley/river path/30th Street Station/campus. Also, this is a pet-friendly building, in case that applies to you. Just don't expect much else. Also, I haven't personally had to deal with them, but I've heard the management company can be a hassle.

Lots of street noise, but well priced for Center City
Apartments facing Market Street are very loud because of the fire trucks across the street. The building has had a lot of repairs during my time here. The elevators and the gym have both had issues. The location is at least convenient and having Trader Joe's next door has been a life saver. There is also a trolley stop nearby at 22nd and Market which is convenient for getting to campus.

Best value for the money
No frills, but its reasonably priced, clean, and safe. Also, Trader Joe's is right next door which is great during the winter.
