Evo at Cira Centre South reviews and highlights

  • Lots of Drexel Students
  • Floors have an "industrial look"
  • All rooms have their own bathroom
  • Awesome amenities, furnished units, and utilities are included
  • Some of the undergrads can be rowdy and noise travels easily from room to room
  • The view and the location are excellent
  • Bedrooms are on the smaller side, but have efficient layouts
  • Management is excellent, but the overall quality of units could be better
  • Lots of study rooms and tons of great amenities including an amazing gym and pool
  • Very responsive management

Decent but Expensive

Everything at the apartment is "fake nice." It new construction, new appliances, but just built very shoddily. Does the job though. A lot of international students live here.

Experience

At first, I was really disappointed when I moved in. The previous renters trashed the whole apartment and the maintenance did not clean up the space after. I had to do some deep cleaning. After a few weeks things were good. You get full access to CIRA green rooftop, bakery downstairs, and rooftop pool

Great location, bad management

Location is great for access to the med campus, undergraduate campus/facilities like Pottruck (the main gym), as well as pretty good access to both Center City and University City. Right next to the Amtrak station which is great as well. Main upside is that most apartments here come with individual bathrooms, but the rooms and common spaces for multi bed apartments are small unless you splurge on the pricier floor plans. Management is pretty bad to work with, which is the main reason I would not want to recommend this building to others. The building is pretty much just students because nobody else would reasonably be willing to live here.

Convenient location, terrible management

Had terrible problems with management. Moved in and found the washing machine entirely caked with mold, and management insisted it wasn't mold and did not adequately clean it.

Management was consistently unresponsive to maintenance issues.

The "industrial" look was fine in pictures, but was terrible IRL. Concrete floors that were super scuffed, exposed concrete walls. Super dirty carpets.

Really loud and mostly undergraduate students. Super thin walls.

Location was convenient since it was right on the border between UCity and Center City. Moved out after 1 year.

Benefit is that it's furnished.

Shit management

Maintenance is good. That’s it. Management is high pressure sales tactics. It’s November; they’re already pressuring us to renew for a lease that starts in august next year. Reluctant to replace worn out furniture. Management is poorly run because management is primarily college students from Drexel. Nuff said

University City Reviews

University City feels very safe with so many students living in the area as well as the added presence of University security. There are plenty of restaurants and easy access to basic necessities (e.g. grocery store, pharmacy). I really like it because it makes getting to work super convenient and street parking is much more available for visitors (or if you're like me and occasionally borrow your parents' car) compared to other areas of the city. It is also very close to the Schuylkill River Trail for walking/running/biking, is a quick walk into Center City, and gives you easy access to a variety of public transportation as well as major highways.
I love living in this neighborhood! There are a few parks nearby, and there's all kinds of great food places. I definitely try to be cautious and aware of my surroundings, but overall I feel very safe where I live. I love that I can easily walk to school and that the SEPTA trolley lines go right past my house- easy to get to center city for internships, etc.

Lately it has gotten a little noisy at night on my street, but otherwise I have few complaints about the neighborhood.
Living along Baltimore Ave is great - tons of small shops, restaurants, and bars. It's also really easy to get to school or center city on the trolleys. Neighborhood has all the city amenities but is way cheaper and quieter than center city.
I am in UCity, right across the street from the law school. It's quiet but it is kind of far from rittenhouse and center city. There are only a few restaurants and bars around here, but its a short uber into the city.
University City is a bustling college town with plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife. You don't need to go far to find whatever is you're looking for.
For Penn students, the location is perfect, less than a five minute walk to school. There are bars, food, etc though center city offers more options.
Very close to university and law school. Good fast food options. A bit far from downtown
Nice and clean, seemingly safe, not much to do in the area though
