Chestnut Hall reviews and highlights
- Filled with graduate and professional students from Penn
- Good location
- Front desk quickly responds to noise complaints
- Building feels very safe
- Kitchen is small
- Expensive for an older building
- Good living experience for students in University City
- Management staff is great
- Chestnut hall is a safe, clean building that is kept well
- Leasing office staff is unhelpful
- Complex is very quiet
- Strict no pet policy
price is too high
the building has a long history so the facilities are a little bit old, especially the drainage system in the bathroom. We have to call the maintenance guy to clear the blockage every week. and the rental price is too high for students without any income. The good thing is close to the campus, I don't need to worry about the safety issue.

CH Review
It's an old building. They are slow with maintenance requests, but they are in a really close to campus and in a great location.

Location and convenience is great
Lived here all 3 years. Location is the best part. Bus stop is right outside. Tons of closet space for my 380 sq ft studio. Older amenities/building though. Heat/AC is central so the unit in your apartment, which the building controls, will switch off heat/AC capability depending on the season. Not a huge issue but annoying. Somewhat slow on maintenance calls. Lobby and package area is nice.

Great place to live! I have had no complaints. Apartments are large. Building is quiet.

Will live here all 3 years!
I have had a great time in my apartment. I do believe it is pricey for the size (380 sq ft). However, I decorated really well and I can't imagine leaving before finishing school. There are multiple laundry rooms on every floor, and I rarely have to wait for my turn. There definitely needs some updates to be done, but I made the best of what I had. The lobby is really nice and the location is amazing. They are quick and helpful with maintenance requests. Also right next to the 21 bus which takes you into Center City. However, the temperature is weird. I have a heater/AC that only had high/medium/low options, and whether it is set to heat or AC is seasonal. I don't mind it, but someone might care.

University City Reviews
Lately it has gotten a little noisy at night on my street, but otherwise I have few complaints about the neighborhood.
