It's old but does the job!
Great option if you are moving to Boston for the first time.
It's probably one of the cheapest options apart from sharing a flat with your roommate.

Boston University graduate housing
Best decision I’ve ever made. Living right on the Charles river campus you have access to many shops and stores in Fenway as well as what’s available on the BU strip. Super convenient as there is a train stop right in front of the apartment taking me straight to the medical campus or even Cambridge without having to pay. The utilities included is with the price. All utilities are unlimited and included. If any issues arise, help will be available right away. Housing office is extremely kind and helpful. I’d highly recommend anyone, especially first year grad students, to apply to this apartment if you can! :)

Satisfactory
I love everything here except fruit fly infestation during summer and constant fire alarm malfunctioning. Compared to the area, it is affordable, safe, and clean. Lots of kitchen appliances (microwave, electric stove, fridge…) are newly renovated, and the card key access is super convenient yet safe. Its location is the gem. Right on the BU bus shuttle, I can just hop on whenever it is approaching.

580 Commonwealth Avenue Review
Modern building with AC

Overall Positive
Overall my experience at 580 Commonwealth has been great. The furniture, at least in my unit, is fairly new and clean. The only issues with the place is that there are often fruit flies that come in from the first floor and that the fire alarm will go off more often than would be preferred. The walls don't have great sound proofing but overall it hasn't been a big problem for me.

On Campus Essentials
The graduate student on campus apartments aren’t anything fancy aesthetically, but they do have everything I need. Housing services generally fix issues quickly, and the keycard requirement and on campus location helps me feel safe. Utilities are included in rent, and I can use BU’s free WiFi. The BU shuttle and green line are also close by, which is great for transport but bad for noise pollution. It’s overall a great value for the price in Boston.

Not Bad
The apartment building is pretty maintained. There is sometimes some nuisance by the workers who would start upkeeping the premises during late hours. The fire alarm often goes off when you least expect it. The management and GHAs are not very responsive though.

It’s overall great
It’s good. Great location with very close shuttle, nicely renovated inside, good price. If I die and reincarnate tomorrow, I still wanna live here. EXCEPT 1. Lots of fruitflies in the summer which are lowkey manageable. 2. Firealarm goes off so so so often! They don’t care if it’s morning or night. Be ready for that.

The living environment is very comfortable
The living environment is very comfortable, but some of the equipment can be a little problematic at times. For example, the air conditioning and the sink.
