Besides engaging in possible fraud, the landlord/owner attempted to access my unit with me undressed and I had to hold down the lock to prevent him from entering. The next day because I was wary of his actions I set up a recording and caught him accessing my apartment when I was gone and opening drawers. Since moving in I have been missing underwear and expensive items. I had to vacate the unit and stay with friends and emergency housing. It was traumatizing and stressful to go through this and have to move in the middle of the semester, please urge students not to move here.

Fantastic location, especially if you want to walk to the law school. However in the era of zoom where all my classes are online I regret sacrificing size and quality for location. My kitchen has maybe a square foot of counterspace which is used by my dish rack. My bathroom is so small that I cannot close the door when I'm seated on the toilet. The air conditioner/heater is also very, very loud and poor quality. However, the walk in closet is huge for some reason? It's a strange feature in an otherwise poor quality apartment.

It's nothing fancy - old apartment with basic furnishings. But everything works fine, maintenance is always prompt, and it is a 10 minute walk to the law school.

Mauna Kai is a small and quiet gated apartment complex with a number of graduate students and international students living there. It is about a 10 minute walk to the UT Law School.
