Runaway Bay

We have lived in this apartment for almost two years and have had a great experience. The staff are helpful, and maintenance tasks are quickly resolved. This is an older building so some things could be updated, however, the proximity to downtown, grocery stores, shopping, etc. is unmatched.

I have been living in this complex for almost 2 years now and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. When we started renting, we looked high and low at various spaces and this hit all the marks. It is an incredible value for the size and comfortability and has all the amenities you could need. Not to mention, it's very close to downtown so an easy commute. GREAT for pets, has a small but sufficient gym, a nice pool, a tennis court and walking paths throughout the property. The apartments themselves are a bit dated (i.e. popcorn ceilings), however each unit is quiet and spacious. The management team couldn't be any better as they are extremely responsive and helpful when it comes to handling any issues that may arise. Dependent on your location within the complex, light can be a bit of an issue, however this is mainly due to the extensive old tree growth on the property, a compromise I'm willing to make! Couldn't recommend more!

Pros:
-screened in porch
-maintenance team is quick to respond to requests
-have never felt unsafe
-ample parking
-cheap for Mount Pleasant
-location is AMAZING. Takes 2 minutes to get to the Ravenel Bridge.
-has a dog grooming station
-has a trail behind the apartment buildings

Cons:
-the complex was built in 1972- it is old
-the kitchen is very small with no pantry and little cabinet space
-temperature control issues- one bedroom is much hotter than the thermostat is set at, the other is much colder. Does not matter what season
-you are required to have cable, even if you don't use it. It's "included" in rent
- "dog park" is just a fence full of dirt and leaves
-bathroom and closet in master bedroom are TINY (not sure if that's just my apartment or all of them)

On the older side, but still very nice for its age. Perfect location.
