The Cloisters

Cloisters is very close (15 min walk, 6 min bike) to the hospital, and each unit is about 600 sqft, enough for one person. Most units come with washer/dryer. Also close to a lot of apts other students live in, so it is easy to go hang out with others or host.

The property, located approximately 10-15 minute walk from Vanderbilt campus. is in a great location. With parks, a grocery store, campus, and restaurants all within walking distance (5-15 minute) or a quick bike ride (under 5 minute), I have everything I need. Beyond location, it is nice to have my "own" place. The majority of my neighbors are professionals or also work at the hospital, making for a lack of issues overall. The area is also very much a young professional, student, and young couple type area, with no security or crime issues I can think of. The A/C works very well. The only bad parts so far has been a thin ceiling (I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking around, a lot), and the double-edged sword of having my "own" place (owning a property means there isn't a landlord you can call when things break down)! However, I will say the side walls are much, much thicker and I cannot hear any other neighbors. The other issue that may or may not be a concern to a medical student is that no one else I know lives in my condo complex. However, I am within a quick walk of at least 3 others, and a bike ride away from Bristol (the main medical student housing location). Otherwise, the size is great for a 1 person (~600 sq ft, more or less), with room for a washer dryer, full kitchen, and adequate living space.
