Consider a Co-Op
I have lived in several Co-ops in Austin and I have always loved the experience. Co-ops are great because you know all of the people living in your building, they have some social programming, and they are affordable! Opsis is perfect for law students. It's aimed at housing graduate students, and so it is quiet and the other people in your building are studying really cool things like astrophysics and middle eastern history! Living here is a great way to get to know other students around your age who aren't law students.

Graduate Student Co-Op in West Campus
Opsis is a co-op for graduate students. That means our rent is cheaper (meals aren't included at Opsis) but we have certain responsibilities such as one hour of labor a week. It's a great way to get to know grad students who aren't law students. I know everyone in my building which provides me with a sense of community and security. It's near UT campus, but a little far from the law school. It's a 30 minute walk or a 15 minute walk/shuttle ride if you time it right.
