Comments on Jardine Appartments
Our rental is renovated Jardine apartments. It has minimal kitchen space, with no proper lighting (overall). The laundry facilities near these apartments are subpar. The neighborhood is of poor quality. Additionally, if you have a neighbor above you, their children's noise can drive you crazy.
To me, it doesn't seem worth it with this amount of rent.

Safe and social international community
The Jardine premise is very amicable for international students to stay at least for the first couple of years to socialize faster with your own community or even the Manhattan community.

Convenient and practical for grad students
As an international graduate student in Computer Science, Jardine has been a convenient and practical choice at K-State. I have been living here for more than 2 years. The location is excellent. I can easily walk to my department and campus facilities. Having most utilities included (water, gas, internet, trash) makes budgeting straightforward and removes the stress of setting up multiple accounts as an international student. The graduate student community here is helpful and quiet. Maintenance requests are handled promptly by the university. No need for a car since everything is walkable. Safe and secure environment.
I would recommend Jardine to incoming international graduate students, particularly for their first year. It provides stability and convenience while you're adjusting to life in Manhattan and focusing on your studies. The on-campus location and included utilities make the transition much easier.

Great Environment but Parking is an Issue
I've really enjoyed my time at Jardine, things very rarely break but when they do someone is out within the day. Its overall very quiet and I rarely have to interact with anyone I don't want to. My main issues stem from the parking. My apartment is not on the street which can make it difficult to find for deliveries and guests and you do have to pay for a pass that doesn't include anything on campus. I mainly walk to campus, but even then there aren't enough spots around my apartment so I often find myself walking from my car longer than I would hope.

Convenient, Affordable, and Family-Friendly Living
My overall experience at the apartment has been very good. The location is convenient — the university is nearby, the bus stops close to the complex, and transportation is easily accessible. Maintenance services are excellent; it’s simple to submit a request, and the team responds efficiently and follows up promptly.
The rent is reasonable, and even though electricity isn’t included, both the traditional and renovated apartments are affordable options for small families. The community here feels inclusive and safe, especially for children who can play outside comfortably.
One minor drawback is that there’s limited interaction with the local community since most residents are international students and families. However, this also makes the environment very diverse and welcoming.

Life at Jardine
The best parts about living at Jardine are its proximity to campus (about a 20-minute walk), the inclusion of many utility costs in the rent, the regular on-time arrival of the campus bus, and the helpful amenities in the Jardine circle, where the offices are like JP's Sports Bar and Grill and the mailboxes. What is least desirable is that there can be quite a bit of litter at times; however, that is a problem at all university housing. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, and the location is ideal for those who want to be close to campus but also a bit far out away from the centrality of it all. Management is phenomenal, and the maintenance staff is always responsive and accommodating. There are different apartments depending on how much one is willing to pay for rent. Some apartments have washers/dryers, while others don't (the same goes for furniture); therefore, one has to use the laundromats, which are also on Jardine's grounds (they cost two dollars to wash and dry, respectively). Overall, a nice place to live for graduate students, students with families, and/or international students.

Living at Jardine Apartments
Jardine offers the convenience of living on campus with a diverse community and easy access to classes, buses, and dining. The location is great, with green spaces and a relaxed neighborhood feel. Management provides 24/7 maintenance, though cleanliness at move-in can vary.
