Apartment living

The apartment I lived in right now is the renovated one, the stove takes a long while to heat up that it takes a while to cook food, the fridge is so old and rusty, it has difficulty closing up (we have to put tape to shut the freezer), it's hard to drain the water out of the tab.. It was reported a couple of times by my roommate before, maintenance came by to fix the stove, but it still the same.

Renovated Jardine Apartment Review

The apartment is fairly small but it works for an individual living alone. I feel safe in the apartment complex and I live close to the K-State recreational building which is really nice. There is also the K-State ATA bus (free to K-State students with ID) that makes two stops in Jardine and it is very helpful for getting anywhere on campus. However, the parking pass required to park your car on campus is incredibly expensive (at least $200 for the full year) and I haven't had the best luck with maintenance to get my leaky kitchen faucet fixed. In addition, there is not a lot of sunlight in my building and in the current complex I am in, there is only one AC Unit which does not get cold air to the back of the apartment and we have central heating, so we don't get control over the heat in the colder months.

My new home

I recently moved to US and this is my first apartment in US. I liked the rent as this is cheaper than other states. Also, living in community and specific place creates a sense of belonging and make it easier for me to reach many social events created by the apartment community. Also, recreational center of KSU is very near to the Jardine's which motivate me to work out.

Grateful, consider needs

Very close to campus convenience also means close to the stadium. Hard to study on game days and always have trash to clean up in lawn. Grateful for speedy maintenance and residential aid response, but sometimes they are unable to help with specific needs. Ex: flying pest maintenance, cold winter drafts, water seeping in. Glad to have first floor apartment for ease of moving in and safety during weather watches, but water has come in during heavy rain and school-age neighbors can be less considerate about quiet hours. The complex tries to facilitate community on a broad scale, but I was excluded from my RA's contact list for an entire semester despite reaching out.

Review for Jardine

I have been living here in Jardine since last January. As an international student, everything was difficult initially, but this Jardine greatly relieved me. The best thing about Jardine is the free internet facility, comparatively low rent, responsive management, and well-ventilated room. Some cons are laundry facility is not within the apartment premises and temperature regulation during summer.
