Very good quality for the price and location

Overall a good experience with friendly management who are responsive to your requests. The management is great and they are very accommodating in regards to things that we have to deal with as students (i.e. payments).

Great place

This is a great place to live whether you're a student or cohabiting! The amenities are really good, it's a quiet new building and the management is first class. I had a great experience living there and the pool is amazig, especially during the week where you have it for yourself!

Nice building

It's a great place with lots of amenities, various shops around and the metro station is literally crossing the street from
The main entrance. I had a wonderful couple of years living there, the maintenance guys are amazing and the management is wonderful!

Good place

It was a great place to live. Overall quiet even though it's in front of the metro station. Lots of sunshine on our side of the building.
It is safe despite the location and not a lot of noise in the apartment. families with kids and people with disabilities, not a lot of party young people.

Great Location, OK Building

I have lived here for a few years -- I love that it is located directly across from the Red, Yellow, and Green lines. However, the amenities are not large enough to account for all of the residents. In the summer, the pool area can become a nightmare -- taken over by drunk guests of residents blaring music and drinking in the pool. It's not relaxing at all, and not fair to the residents. Gym is too small to accommodate everyone, and often has broken equipment. Cost is ridiculous for the amenities and complete lack of neighborhood amenities. Walls are thin as well.

Affordable Comfort

Apartment is very comfortable and includes all the amenities that you could wish for and more in a metropolitan DC complex- especially at this price. Pool, gym, and parking are all included. There are also common areas with cable TV and WiFi.

On the downside, I wish there was more going on in the Fort Totten area. The location leaves more to be desired - especially regarding safety. However, you are across the street from the Fort Totten metro, which is a transfer spot for three major lines, which is a major plus.

Spacious, quiet, close to metro

Overall, my experience with the Aventine has been quite positive. The area is quiet and safe. I have a two bedroom, two bath apartment that is reasonably priced for being literally steps away from the metro. The amenities include a newly renovated gym, a community space, business center, and an outdoor pool with grills outside. The only downside to the area is that there is nothing around it. Being a 20s-professional, I chose the location because it is so close to three different metro lines and countless buses, but there's a lack of social life, even grocery stores within walking distance, would have to travel two stops to Columbia Heights for a more social scene. Overall, it's a great place to live if you're looking for a spacious and quiet residence that is convenient to public transportation.

Okay place to live, nice apartments, good location

The pros: Price. This is the best price you'll find considering what you get.

Biggest issues are some of the things that could have been eliminated with better planning. Others who we know here don't have as many issues, but there is definitely A LOT of noise on the galloway side from the road traffic. Only one elevator was a terrible call. The gym isnt the best but it isn't an added fee.

Commute into the city is nice from here, plus the metro is close. Parking is great! Maintenance is always very nice, management has given me no problems which is super rare in any part of DC. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it's not dangerous by any means.
