Founders

Very safe, which was important as a single female living alone. Proximity to campus (15 min. walking) was the main advantage. Pretty expensive though so I am considering moving.

I have enjoyed living at Founders so far. I loved spending time at the pool. My one bedroom apartment has plenty of space for me. I like the events that the Founders management puts on. The location is perfect for the medical school and hospital.

Close to Campus

Founders is super conveniently located and has all the amenities most newer complexes have. Built about five years ago so everything is in relatively good condition. I’ve actually lived in several different units over the years and would pay attention to natural sunlight, potential for upstairs neighbor or courtyard noises, and be aware that the 2nd floor is the ground floor in the Perry (515) building, so there are a lot of bugs down there. The gym is nice and available at a discounted rate with your lease! It was recently acquired by a new management company, so a lot of my experience is from the previous owners. Since they took over, they seem to be pretty good about keeping residents updated on things. A bit slow to respond to non-urgent maintenance requests but apparently they had a backlog from the previous owners. They took care of a dryer issue we had within a day. I did recently receive my lease renewal which was rather ridiculously high, so would be aware of the possibility of rent increases if you plan to stay. I think you pay for convenience and a newer build, which is worth it in my situation!

Lived at Founders during a change in management which resulted in difficulties with the resident portal, timely management requests, etc. Currently, management seems to be doing a good job responding to requests, cleaning up the public spaces, and planning events for residents. Great location from medical school, just wish more utilities (paid through NEP) were included. Parking and gym membership are also separate and expensive.

Great location and amenities. Easy to walk to school, great pool and study areas, lots of grad students and young professionals.

The apartment complex is very nice and convenient to walk to campus. Difficult to get ahold of management and address issues. Gym, parking, utilities are not included in rent.

The location is unbeatable in my opinion if you want to live alone. The space is great and everything works well. They do nickel and dime you for everything though. You pay for wifi, heat, water, parking, gym membership, literally anything they can charge you for they do. You even pay additional costs like the utilities in the common room get split amount residents and added to your bill every month. If you can stomach the cost it is overall a nice place to live!

Founders is fine but there is a lot of hidden charges associated with living there so you need to be careful when budgeting. Utilities is usually an extra $70-$90 dollars a much and that's only going to get worse in winter. You also have to factor in wifi, parking which is either $100 or $150, and you have to pay $45 a month to use the gym there. They are having issues with the package room and packages keep getting torn into or stolen which is a problem and they would close the pool 1-2 days a week during the summer for maintenance.
