Affordable but with compromises

I have a nice, spacious 1bd apartment with Campus Apartments. It is affordable considering the amount of space and location (20 minute walk from the medical campus, 10 minutes to the undergrad campus). However, the building is on the older side with no overhead lighting, lack of central AC, roach issues, and a shared laundry room. Management is very responsive with concerns.
