Foundry Lofts has been a wonderful place to live! I have a wonderful apartment with very cool architectural features (exposed brick, a cool concrete column, visible and chic pipe- and ductwork). My windows are huge, the ceilings are high, and it's SO QUIET. The neighborhood was perfect when I moved in--a beautiful oasis in the middle of the city. It's getting a bit built up now, and is often filled with annoying Hillfolk and commuters, but it's very convenient being so close to a metro, a gym, a grocery store, and a bunch of bars. My apartment is well laid-out and comfortable, though the windows are a bit drafty, the washer sometimes leaks, and the dryer doesn't really dry so well. Still, I love my apartment! I'd probably stay forever, except I may someday price out of the discounted rent program in which I am currently enrolled (not close yet, though!). Also, they're planning to put up a building right in front of my window (they've already done it to the people on the other side of the building) which'd block my view of the stadium.

Overall, I love my apartment. I wish we had a pool, and maybe some storage downstairs (there is ZERO storage in the apartment), and that management was a little more competent (Ekow is AMAZING, but everyone else seems to be phoning it in

Great Building, Terrible Staff

I love this building. Of all the buildings I'd looked at, this is the only place that I actually liked. You don't get much by way of amenities, but there's a small gym and nice lounge. The management staff (guards excluded) is just so amazingly inept, though, it almost ruins the experience. It's one of the reasons I wouldn't consider continuing my lease here.

I love this area! We're close to metros, grocery stores, and great local businesses. It's a very close walk to parks and the Anacostia waterfront. It can feel removed from the law school, which I enjoy, though if you're new to the area it can be more challenging.
I love the Riverfront so much. There are bars and restaurants, a great grocery store, plenty of events and things to do, and there's something new being built every day. The metro is accessible within a few blocks of most apartments as there are two entrances, and the population is full of pet-loving young professionals. Did I mention the Nationals stadium is in the middle of it all? I can't wait to see what my hood looks like in 5 years.
The neighborhood is largely under construction but in ten years or so it will be awesome. In the meantime, there are a lot of great restaurants, the waterfront, and the baseball stadium.
The areas is constantly changing with new restaurants and bars. During the summer the the Yards Park is one of the most beautiful and popular parks int he city!
Looking forward to more grocery stores and shops opening, but I like the quiet of the neighborhood. Easy walk to the water and the Capitol.
I love walking around this neighborhood because it is rather quiet and residential. There are many parks nearby.
The neighborhood has been fantastic. Tons of construction of new restaurants and retail. Great to explore.
This is an up-and-coming area of DC as I understand it. Most of the things around here are new. It's a little expensive, but most of DC is that way as well. A lot of the people who live here seem to be young professionals. There's lots of parks for dogs. It's a pretty area with plenty to do and it's quieter than other parts of DC I've visited. Not quite as cute as some other areas, but that's ok. It has its own thing going on.
