1500 Locust reviews and highlights
- Some units are renovated with stainless steel appliances and new carpets
- Rent is pretty expensive
- Good mix of young families, retirees, young professionals, and graduate students
- A few blocks from Rittenhouse Square
- Amazing pool, gym, and rooftop
- Office staff and maintenance people are wonderful and respond very quickly to complaints
- Only complaints are the slow elevators and the fire alarms that go off at night sometimes
- Lots of Wharton students
- Elevators have had frequent breakdowns
- Gym is great
- Fantastic maintenance staff and doormen
- Wonderful amenities
- Nice gym with dumbbells, weight machines and cardio equipment
- Great for hosting dinner parties
- Building allows subletting during the summer
- Gym boasts one of the best views of Philly
- The walls don't insulate very well during the winter months
- Great place to live
- Resident's lounge is fantastic
Amazing except the slow elevators
Amazing so far.
The only annoyance is how slow the elevators are. You could wait for up to 5 mins for the elevators to come. I have missed a couple of ubers/lyft because of the elevator waiting situation

Wonderful apartment building
Really great experience at 1500 Locust. The staff is super attentive and friendly. Maintenance is super fast with any issues (we haven't had many). The amenities cannot be beat!!! A little far from Wharton but the bus stop is one block away and a 10 minute ride. Great location right in the middle of the action.

Excellent apartment
I am very happy at 1500 Locust. Apartments are spacious and reasonably priced compared to other high-rises. Location is convenient to the 21/42/40 buses, SEPTA train, and is centrally located in the city. Building staff including doormen and maintenance are outstanding and highly responsive. Gym, pool/hot tub, rooftop, and lounge are all high quality. Only downsides are slow elevators at rush hour and rare but annoying fire alarms that are triggered by Fado downstairs. Overall this has been a great part of my experience in Philly and would highly recommend the apartment.

Great place to live
1500 Locust is a very well run apartment building with excellent amenities. The apartments are quiet and spacious with modern appliances. The only thing lacking is style -- they are in the process of renovating the apartments, but some are still carpeted with popcorn ceilings.

Solid Apartment Building
1500 Locust is a solid apartment building with recently renovated units. The building provides numerous amenities (gym, pool, roof deck, doorman, lounge) which only cost a small (<$100) one time fee. Location can’t get much better either.

Great location/ building has improvements
Great location, elevator is terrible and suddenly stops. Or sometimes they do not work creating long elevator times. They closed the roof to make improvements during summer months. Which people were very upset. Office Manager is not very helpful. Rent increases every year.

Nice apt
Good: The apartment is nice and spacious. Close to bars/clubs and restaurant.
Bad: further from campus, very few Wharton students, elevators are extremely slow

Fine for a few years
Great location and amenities. The unit appliances / finishes are ALL as cheap as money can buy with sloppy installation.

Solid Apartment Building
1500 Locust is a solid rental apartment building for students. Most of the apartments are recently renovated and have access to numerous amenities (e.g., gym, pool, rec room, front desk services), all for a reasonable rent (utilities are not expensive either). Frequent renovation work can be an inconvenience, but it beats living in a run down apartment building.

Rittenhouse Square Reviews
Spruce Street in particular is great - it's a little south of the square, so is quieter/shielded from a lot of the traffic that the neighborhood gets, but it's not out of the way or far away. There's a Starbucks, a grocery store (Rittenhouse Market), and a few corner stores (Four Seasons and Food & Friends) within a 2-3 minute walk of my apartment.
