Great place to live

Very spacious apartment with tons of storage space and large balcony. Nice amenities including rooftop gym, pool, and outdoor space. Fairly strict with pets and slow elevators.

Super convenient location, but sometimes a bit busy

1500 Locust is an awesome place to live! My bathroom and kitchen are in great shape, plus the amenities are awesome. There are a TON of people there, though, so sometimes the elevators take a while and the traffic at the front door is sometimes overwhelming. That said, the location is incredibly convenient for getting around the city, for proximity to good bars, and for learning the lay of the land if you're new to town. I highly recommend 1500 Locust!

Good management

Every time I need something the management fixes it promptly. There is a pool/hot tub and gym in the building, as well as movie room and conference area. As a student I use the conference area that also has wifi. There is also a printer and copy machine in the office area.

Great Amenities and Responsive Managament

Great building and location. Concierge is very nice. feel very safe. packages delivered safely every day. can even sign up for local dry cleaners and drop off laundry at front desk and have it delivered right to the front desk. There is a rooftop gym, study area, indoor pool and amazing sundeck with cabanas and grills. Also a home theatre on the rooftop floor that you can rent out. Maintenance staff are quick to respond to any issues in the apartment. It is very pricey but great location, lots of ammenities, feel safe. Patco is right below the building. Downside: no dogs allowed (unless its a service dog) :(. allowed to have cats.

best roofdeck amenities in the city for the money

The enclosed rooftop pool was a selling point for me. Allows me to swim laps year round. The rooftoo sundeck is great when the weather is good. I definitely take advantage of the electric grills on the roofdeck too. The gym is small for someone who used to live at the gym in their free time but has enough equipment and machines to get creative to do everything but powerlifting. I dont think I ever really used the theater roombut there is a library where I spent a lot of time studying for my boards that has a great view. I think the amenities are worth the price of the apartments which are otherwise a bit smaller than you can get for the money elsewhere. Right across the street from the patco which was realiable even in the worst winter weather for commuting too (about 12 minutes to the broadway stop at cooper then a 2 block walk from there)

Convenient Location, Awesome Amenties, Love the Rooftop

You can't beat this Rittenhouse location, but you are paying for it! Parking isn't included but amenities are. The units are nice and newly remodeled with lots of storage, and the staff is pretty chill. Not too many rules, but the place is well kept. Gym, indoor pool, and rooftop are barely used so you can enjoy the luxury without feeling crowded. The primary downside is the elevators. They go down all the time and you waste a lot of time waiting for them. The fire alarm also goes off more than seems reasonable.

1500 Locust- Safe and a great location

1500 Locust Apartments is in a great location, right near tons of restuarants, bars, shops, and all public transit (train, subway, buses). I feel safe and love that my packages can be delivered. The amenities are top notch except when the grills stopped working in the middle of the summer. The staff are all very nice and the maintenance staff is very quick to turn around a request. No bugs or mice, central AC, parking at an extra cost.

1500 locust

Not the best value in Philadelphia, but a very solid building. We love our apartment - tons of space with w/d in unit, hardwood, and a nice kitchen. My only complaint is that the elevators are exceptionally slow. Lots of cool Wharton people live in the building, the gym is great, and there are several great bars/restaurants nearby.

Rittenhouse Square Reviews

Walnut street is very safe - there's always people around and it's well lit. The neighborhood includes all of the fun aspects of living in Philadelphia - tons of access to food and bars, nearby grocery stores/markets, access to the parks and the Schuylkill River Trail
Very close to fun restaurants/bars/shops. Close to the subway as well as the train station (suburban station).
Rittenhouse is the safest part of Philly. It's a very "happening" part of town—lots of restaurants and bars on every street. At the same time, it's right next to more residential neighborhoods to walk around in and explore. It's a great place to live relatively close to the law school but with a degree of separation so as not to get trapped in the law school bubble.
The neighborhood is both quiet and lively. There is so much around, but I have never had an issue sleeping or studying because there is too much noise. The broad street line is a 10-15 minute walk away and we are close to shopping, food, the park, and the river trail. Has everything within a 10-15 walk.
This neighborhood has everything I need within walking distance. Shops, grocery stores, parks, the subway and trolley, post office. You name it. It's very safe and extremely quiet, which helps when I'm trying to study. The Rittenhouse Square area is really the best place to live in Philly if you don't mind paying a little more.
I love this neighborhood and knew I wanted to live here when beginning my apartment search. The park is one of my favorite places in the city, and I love being able to easily access all the restaurants and shopping nearby. It's also an easy (~20 minute) walk to Penn Law, and the walking commute has always been a nice and peaceful part of my day.

Spruce Street in particular is great - it's a little south of the square, so is quieter/shielded from a lot of the traffic that the neighborhood gets, but it's not out of the way or far away. There's a Starbucks, a grocery store (Rittenhouse Market), and a few corner stores (Four Seasons and Food & Friends) within a 2-3 minute walk of my apartment.
Love the neighborhood, Rittenhouse Square is beautiful and we are so close to the more commercial areas like Walnut Street while not being in the center of the craziness. Plus we are within walking distance of public transportation including 10 minutes from the 15/16 street PATCO station. I personally think it is one of the best areas of Philly to live in.
Rittenhouse Square has a park in the center surrounded by a bookstores, restaurants, and a public library. It is open to pets and often has open art / food markets on the weekends. It is close to the Broad Street Line and PATCO. There are many families who live in the area. It is affordable compared to other major cities (NYC, DC, Boston), but there are certainly more affordable areas in Philadelphia, simply without the luxury of being so close to Center City.
